Do you wear gold or silver jewelry?

My mother wears gold and I wear silver. We always argue about it. I can't wear gold because it turns my skin green. She can't wear silver for the same reason. Plus we both think that each looks better on us than the other.
My great-grandfather calls us his Sun and Moon daughters because of the color of the metal. He is Native Islander and depending upon which time of day you were born, that was which women's society you belonged to, and thus which type of jewelry you wore. A woman's extra responsibility to tribe was delegated by which society she belonged to. I, of course, didn't know all this when I chose silver as the color I exclusively wear. I don't get a rash from it, but I was born at night so it sorta fits for me. And my mother likewise was born during the day.

i prefer white-gold to yellow-gold because it looks better on my fair skin. but honestly, i don't wear jewelry often because i tend to lose them.

I don't wear much jewelry, but whatever I do wear has to be silver. Any earring I wore, when I used to keep earrings in my ear, were silver. Necklaces were silver. The titanium ring I wear everyday is, well, titanium... But that's silver in color.

i don't wear jewelry often but when i do, i always prefer gold or a combination of white and yellow gold. silver tend to change its color due to oxidation so i always get discouraged to buy them.

I really don't like gold jewelry. When I was younger, I thought it was ok, but I wasn't fond of it. I prefer to wear silver. Anything silver suits me. I think it's far more beautiful than gold can ever be.

I prefer silver over gold. i dont really like the color gold that much. I do have a matching golden necklace and braclet I like, but other than that my necklaces are all silver. I dont know why but I've never really been drawn to golden stuff.

wow ive never heard that but it is fascinating....
i myself wear silver because 1. its cheaper and 2. there are more designs for silver....99% of my jewellery is silver (save for a couple of items given to me as gifts).im lucky enough not to have allergic reactions to metals
i too was born in the evening so i find it interesting that i also prefer silver....though i also wont argue if someone bought me something gold hehe

I do not like wearing jewels because you may loose your original appearance.I am good looking without jewelery and so i do not like to wear them.But my mom forces me to wear and at some important occasions i do wear gold but i do not wear silver..

Me i do wear gold but only thin one and my mother wear the thick one. We always argue on that matter also because she wants me to wear sometimes her own set of jewelries but i dont like it. Its so catching to eyes of everybody, I just want to be simple thats it. But sometimes just to stop arguing with her I wear it but when I already when out I get it and keep it in my bag and the wear it when i got home.hehehe....

i prefer to wear gold ornaments. silver reacts with oxygen and turns into silver di oxide which blackens the ornaments.
