well the best way to speak japanese really is to have someone with you who can speak japanese. by this way you can speak japanese while he/she will correct you and that can be a faster way to learn. i know how to speak japanese although not that fluent. i've been to japan as a band singer and we are all forced to speak japanese. if you put your focus you will learn simple japanese in 2 weeks. i just like to remind you that this language is kinda difficult. goodluck and welcome to myLot.

Thank you roniroxas for your advice. Thwe worst is I do not have a friend who can speak Japanese yet. I only read on dictionary. But I think it is difficult cause I did not know how to spell the word. Can you help me?

Me, I have bought many books in Japanese and download many audio tutorials in the Internet. However, way back high school, we had a Japanese subject taught by an expert in Japanese. He had been our Japanese teacher for one year. From then on, I tried collecting Japanese books and constantly then I visited bookstores in our city and in Manila just to purchase Foreign Languages books. It would have been better if you watch a Japanese show or a newscast in Japanese. Just listen how they pronounced each word and the tone of their saying it. Imitate what they are saying... Well of course by this time, you would have had read or learned tens of Japanese words. Me, at a start, I forced myself to memorize at least 500 Japanese words and tried to write them in Hiragana, Katataka and believe it or not in Kanji. I could well speak Japanese now because of constant practice with my books and with a little help from the audios I downloaded from the net. There are free sites in the Net where you could learn Japanese. These sites provide audio and text for a particular word. Happy learning then! I wish we were near. I could have helped you. forget about being fluent in a short time, but you can learn basic japanese pretty quick. I recommend taking a course, getting a japanse person to help you, and watching subtitled japanese anime, movies, and tv shows, and listening to japanese music. I've been learning it for months now, and i'm nowhere near fluent. But it's a really beautiful langeuage and is fun too learn, and not as difficult as people think. Gambatte! [do your best!]

book is the best choice to start. Watching Japanese soap operas, animations is the fastest way to learn Japanese language, I think. Of course it has subtitles to understand. still I can barely speak in Japanese, but much better after watching many shows. lol what about using Skype or other messengers? you can make Japanese friend in there. you can teach your own language each other! I think it'll be exciting. good luck!

Learning Japanese is not that very easy way out. I've finished my Level 1 Japanese Language Class I only know how to compose a sentence, but I don't know some other Japanese terminology. What I did is I read an English-Japanese Dictionary everyday for my vocabulary. Talk to my friend through chat to practice my Nihonggo. And also listening to Japanese music could help as long as you look trough the definition of it's word. Watching Japanese movie and Anime is also a big help.

I took Japanese in college when all my friends took Spanish. I love the language and the culture. I do not think there is an easy fast way to learn any language. It just takes practice and you must be able to hear it spoken or you will never speak it fluently. I can't speak it as well as read it, but over time you could learn from cd's.
