i have to talk about this because i want some honest opinion about this. i went to the department of social health services today and i could not believe what i was seeing. there was a 9 year old girl in there with her mother pregnant. this is bad but it gets much worse. the mother was in there with her own agenda. she came in there to put the 10 year old boy who got her pregnant mother (yes i did say the boy's mother) on child support. now i was enraged by this. i could not believe as a mother you would allow this to go on. i am not a believer in abortions but i do think there are times when they should be considered? what do you think????

What is abortion going to solve? You don't think that making a 9 year old have an abortion won't scar her more then having a child? And what if you ruin her chances of having children due to the abortion?
I find this hard to believe that a girl at such a young age could even get pregnant in the first place. Do girls have their cycles thatyoung? And a boy at 10 being able to reproduce as well???
Where did this story come from? I am just finding it all to hard to believe.

What about the life time of knowing that she killed an unborn baby? She will have to live with that the rest of her life. What kind of life is she going to live knowing at that age of 9 she killed a baby she could have given up for adoption? How do you know her body can't handle it? Do you remember the old ages where that was the norm for very young girls to start reproducing?
- most of my earlier post was out of shock just because you don't hear about that every day - I did take health class (even though it was long ago) and I do know when young boys and girls can start reproducing... it's just shocking.
I just don't think abortion is the answer. For some reason that we do not know, God has decided for that young girl to be pregnant. I just don't think it is right for anyone to intervein by killing the baby.

I agree. Abortion is not the answer. But i do believe the story. I think it is wrong for this childs mother to take it so lightly. My brother got a girl pregnant when he was 12 yrs. old. She was 13. She had the baby, but our family has yet to see him. Her family send her away to live with relatives up north. We do know she had a baby boy, but that is all we know.
A girl can get pregnant as soon as she starts her cycle. My step-mom is a school nurse at an elementary school and right now she has one nine, two ten and a twelve year old that are pregnant. Two, are believed to have been raped and the other two by their boyfriends. So, this is why I believe the story.

It IS possible for a 9 year old to have their cycle. My mother was an early bloomer and had her at that age. I started mine at age 11. Even though I personally would not have an aborotion for myself (unless it was life threatening), if I were this gal's mother, I would have opted for an abortion for my daughter. At 9 years old, just because you have your cycle and can get pregnant, does NOT mean you can carry the baby to term without major problems. At 9 years of age, a child isn't fully developed. Its quite possible that this girl won't be able to have another child EVER. Its also possible that she won't carry to term. Many many things can happen. Its a very touchy subject with varying opinions. I just can't understand how a mother, a parent, could let this happen to their child. Its something you definitely don't hear about every day.

I'm confused. Who's trying to get who to pay child support?
I can see this happening. It's very very rare, but it does happen. I know someone who started her period when she was 8. And once a girl starts her period, she can have babies. Guys can get a girl pregnant at any age (I think).
Do you have a reference link?

Now-a-days, everything is been happewning. All we have to do is to start in ourselves. We have to take of our own family. Guide them and protect them. This can help our community go to a right path of life.

Well I understand that the girl is very young however abortions are never right. The girl never should have messed around with the boy in the fist place at that young of an age. Abortions can never be right because killing a living thing is wrong no matter how you look at it. The baby is innocent and had nothing to do with it and shouldn't have to die for something elses mistakes. I'm sure by now you can tell that I am Christian. I strongly don't believe in them and will not accept any excuse for saying its a "right" option.

well i understand that abortions are not right. i dont agree with them unless its in the best interest of that person. and i am not talking about you are in the wrong relationship and now you realize that. i am talking about molestation or rape or in this little girls case. i mean if you would have seen her you would have said "what is wrong with this mother." she looked like she had the body of a fragile little girl. it looked as if after a few months of carrying that baby that her body would not be able to take this anymore. i am not trying to make you change your mind, but this was not your ordinary situation

wow- what a bad mother! her 9yr old is pregnant, and now she wants a 10yr old to pay child support?! What is the world coming to?
Personally, i support abortion, but in this case, where the person who might be having one is only 9 years old, she's just not old enough to decide if she wants to have one or not! say she decided to have one or her mother decided for her and go her one and then later she felt horrible about it- that would be a lot worse than having the baby. Maybe the mother can raise it as thought it was a sister to its actual mother? But then, the thought of a person who's so bad a parent their 9yr old daughter goes and gets pregnant...maybe she should be ept well away from children. And wheres this girl's father?

i understand what everyone is saying about her not being able to take an abortion but what makes you think her body can take carrying this child. she was just a small little girl. i dont think the father was in the picture but the momma seemed like a WELFARE MOM

i was waiting for someone to take that out of context. there is a difference between a welfare mom and a woman looking for help to take care of her children. i am not downing her for being on welfare i just dont think its right for her to be smiling at the office when you are trying to sign your 9y/o up for food stamps and cash assistance. welfare moms only have children so they can stay on the system. they sit here and make up every excuse in the world why the can't find a job. they dont want nothing and they would never do anything with themselves. i would not talk about any woman that is doing what she needs to do to take care of her children. but when you are sitting here with 4 kids in the place with you and you have a pregnant 9y/o with you and then you talking about what you can get out of the system then in my eyes you are a "welfare mom"i would not say a bad word at all about a woman who needs assistance because i myself has had assistance too. but i didnt use that as an excuse to continue getting that cash and those food stamps. i went through the programs they had and came out with a degree!

I won't look at the picture. That is seriously an image that I do not want to carry with me the rest of my life.

Well, considering how well they parented their daughter, I really wouldn't think that is an option. Unless, of course, you are interested in the next generation repeating those same mistakes. No, they are not parents either and should not be charged with the welfare of another child.

This is a totally made up story. Logically, scientifically it is not possible. I do not believe this story.

Perhaps before you continue spouting off nonsense, you should research a little. There are more than a few documented cases of girls becoming pregnant even before the age of thirteen. Thus is is VERY logically and scientifically possible.

Oh My, 9 years old. That's how old my daughter is. Doesn't that break a record for the youngest child to get pregnant???? Wow the mother is crazy isn't she. First of all is she really going to let her give birth??? What a story. I agree with you I don't agree with abortion but there are rare cases that take exception and this is one of them.

Remember now, you asked for honest opinions, here goes.
Even though this is a most horrible circumstance; the child is not at fault. I am against abortion becuase God is against it. I desire is to love the things God loves and hate the things God hates.
This leads into an answer to "what was going on." Any nation, family or individual without the knowledge of God's principles and ways leads to ungodly behavior. The answer is that we live in a sin cursed world. There are basically two kinds of people in the world; sinners saved by grace and sinners that are lost, without God and hope in the world. The consequences of not living God's way eventually shows up in our lives or our kids.
If this child is old enough to get pregnant then she's probably healthy enough to birth the child. Adoption may be considered but I vote no on abortion because I know I must stand before God someday, how bout' you?

...and countdown21 puts on their rubber God mask and assumes what he does not know. Just because someone else's morals are not the same as your "so-called" Christian morals does not mean they are sinners.
So, tell me...when did God tell you that it was okay to judge others? See, I've actually taken the time to read the bible and found out that God says that he is the only one who shall judge us. Are you God? No, just a person in a mask.

For a girl to get pregnant at a very young age can completely turn her life around so much. Maybe she haven't got any solid idea on what she entered in. Her responsibilty for the life she is carrying and others. If I will be her I won't take the life away of the child inside her womb. But the question is? Is it safe for her to deliver the baby? Though I'm not in favor of abortion, maybe we can reconsider it in this case.

OMG, that is very hard to believe. How could it be possible for both at such a young age be able to reproduce? ouch....I do believe in abortions though. To me, if that is for the best of everybody, why not? Why do create more problem in life, if you can avoid/eliminate it. Child for them can be a burden. They should have a child when they're ready.

If it were my 9 year old, she would be having an abortion.
A 9 year old uterus is NOT equipped to carry a child. A 9 year old cervix is NOT equipped to open. A 9 year old child should not be subjected to carrying a child or having to have a c-section, or dying in child birth for that matter.
Ignore Shannon, she's judge and jury over everyone's womb.
She thrives on getting people pissed off.
I'm not a big believer in abortion, per say, but I do believe in taking care of the born before taking care of the unborn.
I also believe that the mothers that could not see fit to supervise their 9 year old girl and 10 year old boy have no business continuing to have custody of those kids.
The whole thing sickens me. That poor little girl.

That girl is too young. How bad to hear that news. I dont think its good to let her have abortion. That would be a trauma to her young age.How could that young girl be pregnant. What kind of parents she have to let that happen to her...

I am pro choice in the matter of abortion. In this case I feel the girl should have the decision taken away from her. A nine year olds body is not ready to carry a child. It hasn't even finished developing itself. I think abortian really should be the way to go here.
Sorry if my opinion offends.
