What can I do for a nosy friend?

i have a friend who is nosy into other people's affairs, they just keep talkin on and on about others and i really hate this.I cant just say it out or ask him to stop, cos thats the only thing he loves doing.I have hinted to him several times about this but he doesnt pay heed, i've even thought of leaving his friendship, but i can't:( what wud u do in my place?

Me.... I would try to give him hint like you did and if he doesn't budge, try telling him in a sweet and cool way; so change, then i will straight away tell him on his face that "hey you... can you keep your mouth shut??? i can't hear such nonsense anymore.... Go and tell this to some one who is really interested in it...". You have a yet simpler option.... tell him this page's url and tell him to read this discussion... he will surely shut his mouth up... ha ha....
