We all get old...And someday we will discover that we are too old to work and to even take care of ourselves. Would you see yourself in a nursing home someday? Seldomly visited by your kids and grandkids? Lonely? Make yourselves heard, your opinion matters

No, i dont want! .. I know how's it like living in a nursing home. When i was still a nursing student, we'd been affiliated to a lot of home cares and it was really a lonely place to live in. I can't describe the words. So i can't imagine myself ending up in a home for the aged place, just the thought of it makes me feel weak. (sigh) :(

Is that so? Can you describe to us how its like there? Would you want your parents to be in a nursing home in the future?

Well for one, just imagine the lack of attention and special care given to the oldies. The LOVE thing? They are like super hungry for love, you know what em sayin? They can't get the love they really want from people who takes care of them, they want their families really, they're warm hugs en kissed what they've been craving about. It's hard to explain.. . I'm more into the emotional feelings of the oldies that i found really bad. I don't want my parents to end up living in a nursing home. They brought us up nicely, i love them so that's the farthest thing in my mind. (",)

It is sad though that many oldies today suffers that constant longing for love. Especially to those sweet old ladies that are stuck in the nursing home away from her oven and the kids in the park that she makes cookies for. Thank you very much and response has been marked the best

Nope I don't want to but if no one is to take me in and if someone does want to take me in but lets me feel that I'm a burden to them, then I guess I'd pick the nursing home.

Is it really possible that a loving parent or guardian become a burden to the people that you have taken care of? Thank you very much for your very bold response it has been + rated

Right now, I care for my 72 year old grandmother. She took care of me my whole life. I moved in, and I tell ya, its REALLY difficult. She is mean, and cruel, and just plain rude to me. She doesnt want to take her pills, she eats when ever/what ever she wants. Its really hard. When I get to be elderly, yes, I do want to be in a nursing home, because they can provide better care for me, and I dont want to put that much on my family.

I know exactly what you mean, but as you said she took care of you and I am sure that she also had her share of complaints... Patience my friend, hardships are meant to strngthen the heart. As you would read the other responses they are attesting to what they have witness in the nursing homes -- it is lonely. Can you live up to a lonely life? Thank you very much and your response has been + rated
