Everyone knows of him and and everyone loves him. The real Australian he was (A LEGEND). Its the same for everyone, although they never met him personally everyone felt that they did. he was just that sort of character. Its been 6 months since he turned into an angel to look after all the helpless animals. i really really cant beleive that he has actually gone, its still like just a bad nightmare. I for one and everyone else I'm sure really miss you. He is our Australian HERO.

He was very entertaining, with lots of enthusiam and a great passion for what he did. He loved animals of all kinds. He also cared a great deal about educating the world not only about the different animals but also the dangers each animal species faced in the wild. He wanted to help preserve endangered species. I just want to see.R.I.P steve you were a great man!One of the worlds finest conservationists!

yes he was a hero and me and my boyfriend misses him we still watch his shows on TV as always. It is still hard to believe that he is gone and I think that his little girl will follow in his footsteps she is so cute. We watch her on the Jay Leno show. God Bless Steve and his family he is sadly missed.

Steve was just amazing. But he was a genuine guy. No frills, no b/s, what you saw was what you got. He lived large and gave his all so that everyone could share in the wonders that he found and showed.
When I lived in Queensland, the Australian Zoo was one place we'd always take visitors. That was before the fire. There were animals in enclosures but they were natural settings and many animals are just running round loose and tame. Kids can pat roos and wallabies and anything else, these animals would be grazing or lying around not taking much notice of the crowds. You didn't just visit the zoo and go round looking at animals....somehow you became a part of the whole thing. I haven't been since it was rebuilt. I hope to go again someday.
