first love never dies?!

Back when I was a college student I met a guy and became my first boyfriend. We stayed for almost 2 years. I can say that I really loved that man because even now that we already part our ways. Its been 2 years without communication I still have feelings for that man. I keep on ignoring my feelings but i have a hard time fighting with that feeling. I tried to accept that we are not meant for each other that we need to go forward but as time pass by I still find myself thinking of him and eventually hoping for him to comeback. I even started to hate myself for still loving him, I want to beat my self but its really hard for me to forget him. Knowing the fact that the guy has already someone else... please advice me what should i do to forget my first love.
