In the university that I'm in, a lot of students take an extra year or more than the allotted time-frame to complete their courses. I started out with a 4-year course, Biology, but I never got the hang of Chemistry so I shifted to Creative Writing. Now I'm in my last semester and it took me 6 years to finally get to this point. When anyone asks me what year I am in, I just tell them I'm graduating.

Yes, I was able to graduate from my 4-year Biology course on time, and never shifted to any other course. When I got to medical school, that's when the problem started. I realized that I didn't really want to become a doctor, so I wasn't able to graduate. I stopped after third year of medical studies and thought about what I really wanted to do with my life. I then shifted to teaching, and never regretted the decision. Sometimes, there is a need to shift courses or to stop for a while, in order to figure out what we really want to do in the future.

Nope, i did not also finish my course on time. I took up computer science, a 4-year course which i took for five years. Yes, it took me an extra year to finish my course because of availability of subjects and of course the subjects with prerequisites which you can not take until you finished the required subjects and of course it is also offered at only a particular sem and not available for summer or second sem. Of course i will also not deny the fact that i flunked a few of my subjects, only a few, and my parents do not know of it yet. But at least i found a decent job after the five years of college study. Yet, i need a more rewarding and high-paying job to survive life i guess.

Hello dear, well I've just started my first year engineering. And hopefully I'll complete the course in 4 years of the alloted time with no KTs.
Here we have a lot of competition here and if I take more time of have any KT then the journey ahead becomes tough and so have to do the stuff in time and I'll try to do all that in time.

I had two years to finish my NVQ3 course in childcare, thankfully I finished it with a month to spare, there was no exam at the end of it, it was all coursework based, and I managed to hand in all my work to be checked, verified and then passed and finally signed off! It was tough going and it took the first six months to really get into it and get used to the framework. I was glad it was over, it was hard work but worth it.

I finished my Diploma in the allocated three years. My degree however, I did part time, by correspondance, while I had a full time job. So it took me 3 years.
Lots of students do their degrees part time now, so they can work as well.
Plus, it is becoming very popular to take a gap year before starting University. This is what my daughter is planning on doing.

I worked for a year and 8 months while I was studying. It helped because you don't fret too much about where to get funds for a project or a research but time management is the key. I'm not very good with time management but I was still able to juggle work and school. It's a good experience.

It took me 5 yrs to graduate a 4 yr college. I was there a year, took a year off, changed my major and was there another 4 yrs (a total of 6 if you count the year off!). But when I finally graduated I was just SO happy to be done, the extra year didnt affect me at all. Happy graduation! And no I didnt finish on time, at all :)

Yes, I finished on time. I took up bachelor of science in Accountancy and because I'm good in cheating, I passed. Of course, I'm only kidding. Though Accountancy was not really my choice I have to put my heart and mind into it because my parents wanted me to get that course. The day after my graduation I already have a job in the bank near our home. After working there for a year and a half, I applied for another job which is very far from what I took up in College. It's more of an engineering job and I found my passion there because I got to train some engineers. Now I'm planning to enroll for masters degree so I can teach because that's what I really wanted to do.

I was in Business Management and had to withdraw from classes last year in May cause I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, but I started back in Febuary 07 but in a field Medical Management, cause I feel I can help people like they helped me. I guess I never thought about it till I was sick. That was one of those things that everybody takes for granted.

I went to two different schools -- a Junior College where I studied computers, psychology and roman history -- did that for 2 years and then I studied 8 months in a vocational school heavy on computer technology and graduated. From 1999 to 2002 I was in college.

Yup, I finished my college major on time. I just graduated today btw and I'm so happy. It feels great because I've worked so hard for 4 years in a course/major that I accidentally picked out and finishing on time is the best reward I could get since I have no background at it first.
