What food reminds you of home?

Rice and beans!

Well I am Ukrainian. So quite honestly any Ukrainian food reminds me of home. Anything such as perogies, or even cabbage rolls.. As when I was younger I remember going over to my Grandmother's house & her always preparing these traditional meals. Over the years my mom began to prepare these meals as well when I was living with her years ago when I was younger. It honestly got to the point where on every holiday we would go to my Grandma's for dinner.. Or even over to my mom's house.. And she would prepare a variety of different Ukrainian meals for all of us within the family.. Now as I have grown older.. I prepare these meals for both me & my other half quite often because we both are Ukrainian.. I feel because I was raised with these meals.. That I had wanted to learn how to prepare these meals.. So that I could still celebrate this tradition.. I feel I can make perogies just as good on my own.. As my Grandma did each time I would go over there for dinner as a kid.. I find I tend to crave these foods quite often.. As I find each time I decide to prepare them. Or have them.. That they carry along a sense of comfort.. I think the reason I feel a sense of comfort each time I eat these as well.. Is because of the fact that they take me back to my childhood.. And always remind me of the place I feel most comfortable in.. Which is of course "my home." Thanks for allowing me to share! xx

For me it will be Lechon(Roasted Pig), hanging rice with spicy homemade sauce.

I think it has to be meatloaf....my mom's was great. She's add tons of onions and spices and cheese in the middle!

I live in quebec and the typical food here, we don't eat it that much except on holidays but I know that anywhere in the world I go it will remind me home ...Its meat pie, turkey and maple sirup ! hhmmm its good ! I really like it ...but at home, my home where I live with my parents our family special meal is called chinease fondue ..its delicious !!!
