I don't know. I don't listen to Audioslave except for when they're on the radio or something, and I've only got a mix CD someone made me of RATM, but if I'd rather hear something more akin to RATM than Audioslave. I heard that RATM is supposed to reunite for a show in LA on April 29, and although it might be a one-time thing, some people are thinking that they might really get back together again.

So it seems that the rest of RATM has decided to part their ways for sure, I kind of feel sad about their split-up.
But thanks for sharing the news, and I can't wait to hear some of Tom Morello's guitar masterpiece. I always love the melody's that he creates during his RATM and Audioslave days, his own trademark is always etched to each and every songs that they make.
I hope that he do great in his new found profession as a solo artist, I will definitely wait for the release of this album of he's!;)

thanks - I hadn't heard of this album. Just found his myspace and offical site, checked the songs there
It's very different from both Rage and Audioslave - more acoustic protest folk.
http://www.myspace.com/thenightwatchman
http://www.nightwatchmanmusic.com/I've just written a rough review
Nightwatchman
Tom Morello (ex¤t Rage Against The Machine/exAudioslave member) solo acoustic
protest folk project (added later: according to wiki it's more an musical alter ego "a black robin hood" whose an "artist of the people"(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Nightwatchman)
first impressions
artwork on his myspace looks like angry Springsteen out to bash&kill fasists with his
guitar
One Man Revolution
This sounds like something - a lot like something niggling away at the back of my brain
shows how one person can be a threat to the authorities
chorus is a bit simplistic & keeps triggering inappropiate memories of childhood singing of "one man went to mow, went to mow a meadow"
getting vibes of both Springsteen's bleaker social political songs and his warmer Seager
covers, moments where there's a hint of a smile in his voice, his one man revolutionary
has defient humour not just uptight anger and prepared to "love many, trust few" (with a
hint of tounge in cheek)"in my nightmares...the streets are flame, and in my dreams...it's much the same and on
the streets of LA...they know my name and if you come this far Mister maybe we're one
and the same" sung as if he'll relish it and increasinly Johnny Cash syle.
House Gone Up In Flames
bitter more spoken than sung (folk not rapped)
listing all the things that are wrong
musically aludes to Masters Of War
Strong lyrics referencing letterbombs(?), "Colin Powell's lies" (i swear he called he called
him Colin like he's English), hiding under the stairs about to be discovered by the
occuping force, whether cutting and running (from Iraqi) would make things worse, bodybags, Peter
denying Christ (again v Johnny Cash American IV), class injustice, "we could cut and run, take half the blame, don't stop now that's why we came,
(whispered) house gone up in flames"last time cried out in Dylan anger "Oh Lord house gone up in flames"The Road I Must Travel
traditional folk bagpipes quieter then builds up other voices join in very lone traveler
joined one by one becoming a marching protest especially the chorus.
gets darker as it goes on
"the road I must travel it's end I cannot see"trying to opose/expose injustice only to be stiched up by the authorities and forced to
live as a fugitive
- possible an ex soldier? - "I fought in the jungle, I fought In the street"
ntil The End ("exclusive demo only on myspace")
beautiful gentle guitar, again sounds like somthing I can't quite place
grizzy vocals Johnny Cash circa parts of American IV & V "no one knows who gave the orders"
a count down referencing sons who'll never return, I Shot The Sherif, and a lover who'll
keep waiting "I'm with you now until the end"powerful lyrics and delivery. Would've been perfect on one of Johnny American albums -
wish he could have sung this.

I didn´t know this new, I expect a great album with a extraordinary letters and music.
tom morello is a great guitarist, i think in audioslave he didn´t develop his potential, i hope in his solo album develop his potential like in RATM
