I like to cook, sometimes (especially when I'm not so lazy)
This evening, I've cooked a dish of mushroom bitter gourd.
You'll need - a few mushrooms (thinly sliced)
- a bitter gourd (sliced)
- a teaspoon of chopped garlic
- a tablespoon of cooking oil
1. Add a little salt into the sliced bitter gourd and mix
thoroughly. (this to get the juice out of the gourd).
Leave for about 20 minutes.
2. Heat the wok. Add in the sliced bitter gourd. Fry them
without oil for about 5 - 8 minutes over medium heat.
(this is to get the bitter taste out of the gourd)
3. Take the gourd away from the wok.
4. Add in the cooking oil.
5. Then add in the chopped garlic. Stir fry for a while
till yellow.
6. Add in the mushroom. Stir fry till the mushroom are
cooked.
7. Now add in the bitter gourd again. Mix and stir fry for
about two minutes.
8. (The Asians like their dishes with gravy.) Add three
tablepoons of water with a little cornflour and salt.
Stir the mixture in a bowl first.
9. Pour the mixture into the wok and close the wok with a
lid. Cook for about 1-2 minutes.
10. The dish is ready to be eaten with rice!
