If you pay for a vacation and your plane crashes on the way there, do you get your money back? (Granted you lived)

I bet you'll get more than that. Especially when you are insured with other companies.

I'm pretty sure you not only get your money back for the flight, you also get paid compensation for "pain and suffering" and such.
However, if is was a minor accident that just delayed your trip, the airline would probably not repay you for things like hotels you booked and car rentals and stuff.
