This is our new soon to be spoiled cat. She is young. I am not sure how young. She is content to spend her days sitting on my husband. A girl has to have a white knight to protect her from the new evils in our house. *giggle*
I think she will need a vet appt. made. Her ears are a little filled with wax and she scratches them a lot. She is front declawed. She doesn't really answer to her name if she ever did at all. What would any of you do? We are given a cat with no info at all other than what I said. Can a vet check to see if she is fixed or had her shots? Thanks!
To my friends reading, I maybe a little slow adding to your discussions this weekend. Please forgive me.

Cats are pretty low maintenance and are alot of fun when they are healthy. My girlfriend and I take ours to Pet Smart and anywhere else we can decide it is safe for the cat to go out. I havce been looking for somekind of wagon or a carrier means to take my cat outside without a leash and let it smell the fresh air without having to worry about him bolting and running off. The level of love and attention you give this cat will be given back to you in spades

PetSmart sells them. They are soo cute. Maybe I will get this cat one. She seems like she wants to go out. I don't have a collar on her yet. I don't want her running off the second day.
I agree. They ain't much work. They are fun. If they are mousers it is even better.

I would definately take the cat to the vet. Just to check her out-- especially if she is shaking ehr head alot- Probably has ear mites. It's good to get them all up to date on shots also.
We just got a new cat also-- I went to the Lollypop Farm (Humane Society type of place in Rochester , NY). We went for an indoor cat--- We have had bad luck with cats that we let outside. Our new cat is Gracie-- She's a doll-- She loves attention and meows when you aren't holding her-- I hope she soons gets over this- as it drives me crazy! I was scrubbing the bathroom floor this morning- and she was right there in my face!

I'm not sure is a vat can tell if she's been "fixed" as all the works are inside:-)Introduce her to a tomcat, if he shows no interest in her, that's probably a good sign.

I gave you 2 + for your wonderful answers. She is our first black and white female. I think she might be. She came from a house with a male cat. I didn't think of it that way. But then again, if she has kittens in 6-8 weeks, I will know. LOL

I wouldn't either. I am almost afraid of how long this one will last. I have buried so many cats in the last 6 years. It is like a curse.

I would take her to the vets for a general check up. The vet will be able to look her over and answer any questions you may have. I'm sure this little bundle will bring you many hours of amusement and frustration! lol. I love kittens as they are so full of character! A day will not go by that this one doesn't have you crying with laughter and at the same time wondering what you did to deserve the torment they give you!

I remember those days. We went a 3 months without a cat. She is just our first female in ages. The first to be declawed. I hope she is fully litter trained. I usually get little 7 week kittens. She is full grown. Thank You! You words mean a lot. I gave you a + for it.

what a beautiful baby!i used to have one who looked like that:)
she may have ear mites also if she scratches them-i would definetly take her in to get the ears cleaned.
vets can tell if they've been altered, but most likely will recommend new shots if you don't have the history on it.

Thank You! I think ear mites is the only thing that I have never seen. I know you can't actually see them but I hope she ain't got them. Maybe her ears are just too dirty? Guess a vet will tell me. Thanks for the advice. I gave you a + for it.

Nice to hear. Next little angel saved. Vet can check few things, I am not sure if can check about shots. Make an appointment ASAP. Cats are self trained and they don't need additional training like dogs.

I agree. I would hate it if I had to train the cat. She seems pretty good so far. I will get that appt. done ASAP. Thank You!

We had a kitty that looked very much like your kitty. He loved us very much and we loved him very much. He was my true friend. I still miss him very much.

Oh wow she must be so cute, and yes a girl does have to have someone to protect her so I am happy that she is content to sit on your husband's lap. It is best to have her checked over from a vet to make sure that she is well and healthy. Yes the vet should be able to know all the details that you do not know about your cat. That is ok if you are a bit slow and hopefully you will be able to do this in the next day or so.

Yes she is showing to be very cute. She is much calmer today. She is getting along with the kids perfectly. By friday, I think she will be OK to take out of the house and to make that drive to the vets. I want to be able to pay for everything in cash. Thanks for the add.

Congratulations on your new baby girl Connie! I hope that you and your husband have many good years with your new fur baby! Cats are such great pets, I know I would be lost without the love of my baby Bug.

Well first off congrats! Any new addition to a family is exciting, weither it be a human or pet :) I'm sure when you take the cat to the vet if you ask questions and express any concerns the vet will be able to help.

The vet will be able to tell if she is spayed but won't be able to tell anything about shots. You will probably have to get all the shots. Since she is declawed she has probably had some shots but to be sure the vet will probably want to give her more shots.

That is what I was thinking. She would have had to have seen a doctor ast some point. I will take her to a vet. It will just be next week. She wasn't exactly budgeted for the weekly bills. :(

I believe that ones choice to declaw or not is up to the owner. Inside cats don't really need those claws. I don't think saying her old owners were cruel or other wise will help any. Since I am her third owner in less than 6 months, I don't think the first set care at all. Thank You for replying.

You should take her to vet and get her throuoghly checked, and will be able to answer all your questions. The ears will definantly checking, he probably cant tell if she been vaccinated but if she was given to you I doubt it. But its sounds like she has gone to a very loving home and she is beatiful, hope you's enjoy each other.

Thank You! Yes she will be a very spoiled kitty here soon. It is just the ears. They are soo nasty. I have seen ear wax but not the scratching. I have lost count of the number of cats that I have owned. Some stuck around, some got rescued, some just left one day and some we buried. You are right. A vet visit is in order for her. Thank You!!!
