My husband and I have traveled two times to Las Vegas. The first time we got to take our kids with us but it was just the two of us this past summer because my son had already started back to school. The first time we went was really a great trip. We got to see the tigers used from one of the shows there in town. We also got to see the dolphins. My kids loved that!! They loved it when the dolphins jumped out of the water. They laughed so hard they nearly fell over!! There was a free "pirate" show every night outside of our hotel. We stayed at Treasure Island and it was an extremely nice hotel. This past summer we did enjoy it but it wasn't the same without our younguns. They enjoy traveling as much as we do. We get to travel quite a bit because my husband is the treasurer of his union branch and usually gets elected to be a delegate. Next summer in 2008 if he is elected we will be traveling to Boston, Massachusetts. I love anything to do with history so I'm really looking forward to that trip.

Hi I went to Vegas a couple of years ago and saw all that everyone has mentioned. Myself and 3 mates are going again in September for 10 days and can hardly wait, the place changes all the time so there is always something new to see and do. I am not a gambler but have a dabble, get my free drinks and meals and soak up the atmosphere. Roll on September Steve

We are not gamblers or drinkers. That is why I enjoyed the first trip we made to Las Vegas better than the second one. The first time we went there were more family oriented things that you could see. This time there weren't that many. Oh, one other thing my husband and I went to was the Rick Thomas magic show. Now that was good!! If my son and daughter could have gone with us they would have really enjoyed that along with the Grand Canyon. Hope you and your friends have a great time. If you are interested in seeing the Rick Thomas magic show you won't regret going. His show is very entertaining.

Thank for the advice. LAST time I went I went to the Grand Canyon and it was awesome, will try and go back and do the helicopter ride this time. Also went to the Hoover Dam which was amazing especially when you see how it was built. Thanks again, will try and get to see the show.

You are right, the Hoover Dam is amazing. I keep remembering things about our first trip that I didn't put in my original discussion. My husband and kids walked across the top of the Hoover Dam but I'm afraid of heights and was too much of a chicken, Ha! Ha! I did go on the tour where they took us inside though and that was really interesting.

I'm glad you enjoyed your trips here. It is a great place for a weekend or even a couple of weeks. I've seen the pirate show you're talking about, but I think it is now defunct, or soon will be. They are always tearing down the old to make way for the new. I envy you going to Boston, have always wanted to go there myself. Someday maybe.

I really hope we get to go. I want to see the street where Paul Revere made his famous ride and all the other historical places there. I have already made up my mind that if my son's school has already started that he is just going to have to miss and take his homework with him. That is just too educational of a place for him to miss.
