I'm going to be honest with you people, I'm a young person. Not baptized yet.
I don't think I love God, or, atleast, I don't feel the love.
It's like...I love my parents, I know that. But I don't feel the love for them. Maybe I love God, I just can't feel it? I mean, I know

Don't worry, it's perfectly normal. It took a lot for me to actually completely turn to God, and I'm still struggling with it. I think it's a lot like a roller coaster, for everyone: you don't know if you love God, or you do know that you don't love Him, then something drastic hapens in your life and you turn to Him because He's all you have left. Then as things are going good you turn away from Him again, until He wakes you up with something else drastic. And it just goes back and forth until you die. It's not your fault, persay; it's just human nature. A lot like a little kid. The kid wants to be independent, but can't be, because s/he doesn't have the experience and knowledge to take care of him/herself. So when the kid is doing good, s/he'll want to blaze his/her own trails. But then things will go wrong, and the kid'll run back to the parents, into their protective arms where they'll be safe. That's like how humans are in relation to God, with humans being the kids and God as the parents.
Hope that helps!

I love god because of all my faults he still loves me. I dont know how I would live my life with out it. I did the road with out god and I have to say living for him has been so much more rewarding than living for myself.

Yes i love God :D its a great comfort to know we have such a loving creator that even though we are sinful he forgives us. Without God my life is a mess and its only since i trusted him that i have realised just how much i do love him. I was the same as you when i first became a Christian, its difficult to just totally trust in him overnight and it does take time but he knows this and he knows whats really in your in your heart. Its about a relationship with him, turning to him in the good times as well as the bad, pray to him about your worries and he will see you through it. The closer you are with him the more you feel his love. God bless.

Yep, I love God. It may sound hokey, but I know I always have one friend in the universe as long as I have God. He's helped me through a lot. It is perfectly normal to question beliefs, feelings, theology, etc. I believe questioning leads to stronger relationships and better understanding.

Hello dear, well you said you don't get the feeling which you get for your parents.
I would like to ask you that did you have any bad experience ,wherin God was concerned, like you wanted something and you prayed to Him but still you did not get what you desired, in such a case a feeling like yu are experiencing can be possible.
God is there ,some one does rule over us and we need to respect him and love him.
Have faith in him ,and some day you will surely see the bright side of him when He will shower all his blessings on you altogether.

i do love GOD not just because HE loves me but because HE deserves to be loved above all things. we love in our lives parents, other family members, friends and beautiful nature. the reason behind this love is the love, affction, care and feelings that they extend to you. one loves anything who is nice and caring for one. so while GOD is a perfect in all good attributes, HE deserves that HE be loved most.
about your problem it's not abnormal. sometimes we can't feel what we actually feel about someone. like u gave example of parents. you can only have an idea about it once you are able to think what would be life without them. so ask yourself that what your life would be like if your parents were not thee or if GOD is not there to take care of you. i believe your question itself shows your love for GOD.

You're confused right? You don't know if love is really a feeling to be kept? Don't worry, It's alright. Sometimes, we people tend to get confused about situations. That doesn't mean that you are drawn away to your parents your love for them are drawn away either. Once you love a person, you will always be loving them. Even if there are times wherein you misunderstand each other, you'll always love them. Your parents love you. Even if they don't show, they still do love you.
Since the beginning, I know that I love God. There are situations wherein I really found out he is always there at my side. The Lord means a lot to me. He's my worl and my life. But ofcourse, in your side. You can choose whatever you want. You can love God if you want to, but you can always say that you don't. It's just a matter of decision. But whatever you decide, and whatever you do, someone will be helping you. Even if i don't know you, I know that bothering is a great deal.

In order love someone you must spend time with them to get to know them. You have spent a lot of time with your parents. How much time have you spent with God? Set aside special time to spend with God in studying his word and talking to hime. As you get to know him better you will feal more love for him. Go to this web site and listen to the love letter copy it and listen to it often It helps me.

I think your worrying to much. I know you love your parents, but it is a feeling you have felt day in and day out for the duration of your life. Same with God, so it is not a new feeling to you. I am sure you have love for God. So, don't be so hard on yourself. This is normal and there is nothing wrong with how you love. Sometimes it takes time for the gravity of the love you feel to hit you. As for me, it is just there and I take those feelings for granted as if they weren't there. I hope that makes sense. That is the best way I can explain it.

Yes i think their is something wrong about how you love cuase u know i feel that their is lack of depth in your thinking and it seems that you dont give your mind enough time to go in the depth of matters ...If you start thinking that why you love your parents? You will discover many reasons due to which you love them...Im not mentioning those things you do the thinking and count the reasons why you love your parents and then you will feel God is being so kind to you to bless you with such parents then automatically you will start counting the blessing conferred upon you by God Almighty and Im sure you feel a great love for God What do you think?

I was an atheist in my teens, an agnostic in my twenties and came to believe in God and came to my Christian faith in my mid-30s.
It's good to think about these things - I don't think there's anything wrong with the way you think or the way you love. You'll come in to your relationship with God when the time is right for you.
There's a lot to be said for the old saying 'God moves in mysterious ways'. :-) Be patient, keep your heart and mind open to the idea of having God in your life; His presence will eventually make itself clear.
There's an excellent book written by CS Lewis called 'Mere Christianity' - I found it very helpful when I was establishing my faith.

I'm no perfect christian but i know that i love God. I can understand what you mean when you say ur not sure if you do love God, but this is what i can tell you from my own experience.
You know you love God, when you recognise the being that is GOD. you can never completely know GOD inside out, al least thats what i think, because he's so awesome and so big.
I've grown up in a christian home, but never really understood God till i was much older.
What i can tell you is this, that fact that you're wondering about if you love God or not is a start. Think about all the wonderful things in you life that the devil hasn't gotten his hands on, that's the protection of God.
But listen you should watch THE PASSION OF CHRIST and see how yu get on
