My father in law is a good man. He has become a real father to me. And he has everything already. I cannot afford expensive gifts such as a new car or a hi-tech gadget or a gold watch as a gift. His birthday is in a few days and i cant think of anything yet. Could someone help me please?

He's an older man and if he has everything already then I think he would appreciate a more simple, intimate gift rather than an expensive gift anyways!! If you have enough pictures maybe you can make a small collage of him with the family or if you have anyone that knows their way around the computer maybe they can do like a short movie (of pictures of course) starting off with his old childhood pictures and him as a youngster (if there are any available) then it can roll into his later years with the family! You can make sure to put pictures of significant memories such as pictures with the family on Thanksgiving or Christmas morning, or special events like birthdays of members of the family, grandchildren's baseball or football games (if you have any) any pictures work! Then you can sit him down infront of the television to watch it along with the rest of the family! It's so fun when you do these things and it's really special!! I think that'd be a great idea and he'd love it! It does take a lot of time and work but it's really worth it! Good luck with whatever you decide to do!!

thanks. I will do this movie thing using family pictures. I know this will take time so i think i wont be giving this for his birthday since its in a few days already, maybe on father's day or grandparents day instead. Thanks for suggesting this, i now have a gift idea for the next occasion.

I hope it's not too late, as I just joined. Anyway, Juliasantos, it would really help if you knew about his hobbies and interests. For instance, if he likes boats or likes building things, etc...or if he was in a war or if he likes Western things like cowboys. I have a new online giftshop I'm building to help folks give the perfect gift. If it's not too late, find out/share some more about him and let me know your budget. I know I can help you. Even if his birthday has passed, the perfect gift is never too late.
