Do you think that there should be warnings about movies that contain....

rape scenes? The reason I ask this is because I started watching a movie on a satellite movie channel earlier at 8 p.m. About 10 minutes into the movie, there was a very violent scene during which a woman gets raped. It wasn't even just implied, it was quite a graphic scene and after seeing it I turned the movie off as it left me feeling quite disturbed! In view of the fact that this movie was showing at 8 p.m. and that there was a children's movie on the next channel, I feel that it was irreponsible of the movie channel to show this movie with no prior warning of the rape scene. If there had been a warning that there would be that kind of content I would never watch it in the first place as for one reason and another I find such scenes extremely disturbing.
Am I the only person who feels this way?

You are completely correct. You are certainly not alone in your thinking. There is no way any normal person can enjoy a rape scence. Such a movie would not be entertainment.

Glad it's not just me. I was shocked actually. I think that actors and actresses who participate in the making of such movies are questionable... I cannot imagine why anyone would think it was a good idea!

I think 8pm is when they can start showing them but usually there is some indication at the start of the movie so you can be prepared. They are getting better at the ratings but you still have to be careful with shows containing more than you want your kids (or yourself) to see.

8 p.m. seems early on the weekend... I thought it was 9 p.m., unless they give you a specific warning. Hmmm...
