We are a middle class family of 3. I work part time, so I dont get health insurance. My husband has insurance, its $5.00 a week for him. If he were to put me on it, it would go up over $100.00 a week. My son is on AllKids (a state program).
So I had to have my gallbladder taken out about a month ago. Now the bills have started rolling in. I now owe over $20,000.00 for my surgery. The bad part of it is, it was a day surgery, in and out that day.
So I start looking on the net for help paying for all this, I can't find anything. Talk about depressing!!
Anyone know anything out there to help people with medical bills like this? Or what I can do? I don't think we are going to get any help from the hospital, because we "make to much money".
Sorry for the vent!

No need to apologize for venting. I feel the same way you do. Our govt truly needs to do something. I don't have health insurance neither. Other countries can have a national health care system, why can't the USA. I just don't understand. I was in a car wreck a few years ago, no health ins. The guy whose fault it was didn't have enough insurance to cover my bills. I had to have surgery, so the bills climb up real high. I am stuck with payments and screwed up credit from it. Is just not fair. They have threatend to take my house from me and even my drivers license. What kind of crap is that, I am someone who has always paid my bills, when you have med bills it is tough, no one can afford them. I need medical care now and can't afford to go to the doc or the dentist. Maybe someday one of our politicians will get their head out their A$$ and figure something out. We can take care of the world but we can't take care of our own citizens. Sorry for the vent.
