I drive myself crazy trying to find the perfect card. I can stand there reading card after card, and a 1/2 hour later I might finally find one that I think is perfect. I usually look at the funny cards first and try to find the perfect card there.

i have a friend like that! it drives me crazy too. When we go shopping, i say "are you going to get any cards"? cuz, i don't want to go then! She is the sweetest person, and she tries very hard to make the card special,, but i tell her-people throw them away anyway, so say it and save yourself 3 bucks! she does not listen, and buys the perfect cards!! i do give cards, occasionally, but you have to be way up there to get a card from me,, i think they are a waste of time and space! now don't even get me started on wrapping paper---

I enjoy looking at cards and though it may take me a bit to find one, I don't fret if it's the perfect one..
I usually write a note inside anyway. Sometimes I use a blank card and write my own. There are some really beautiful blank cards out there... When I am looking at cards, sometimes I find myself giggling in the "fuuny" section!!
What about you,lp?? You wrote about a girlfriend, oh yea you said you do not send cards often....

i'm just not that into cards, getting or giving them. its nice to say the things you feel for someone,.. but i do know that people like to get cards. i even stopped sending christmas cards this past year. too much money, and again, you look at them, and throw them away.. and if you save them-they take up too much space.

Well sometimes a card says what would sound cheezy coming out of your mouth telling someone, but not when Hallmark says it, lol. I will look for just the right card IF it's someone special. Other people I just grab and go for the occasion. I like the gift bags and tissue rather than wrapping paper and sometimes they have a small card tag attached. I don't like spending the extra $3 either. Sometimes you feel like you're being cheap if you don't get card though, so.............you can't win! ;)

It really depends on who I am shopping for, if its someone really special I want to find the perfect card, but if its not someone I really really care about I wont spend as much time, maybe a couple of minutes. I really dont like card shopping

It is a habit for me to find the perfect card.I know alot of people may throw them away and then some keep them for a while and then throw them away. They are reading for at the moment and i want it to be special so thats why i get the one with those perfect words.

Yes! I always try to find one that suits the person I'm buying it for. i also tend to get carried away with reading all the funny cards just for my own entertainment and consequently spend half an hour in the card section before I realise i'm running late for something and have to quickly choose a card. I think making your own is a good idea because you can make them according to the person's personality. Cards are so expensive to buy and you can make some really attractive homemade cards. I would like to start doing that as a hobby, actually.
