Credit card would never make me rich. I've had one, and I always think that I can buy anything. But, at the end of the month, I can't pay the bill.

Really? You should think that you never had one.. But, why do you have one? What for? People always think that they could pay the bill, because it's cheap.. But, if they buy many things, it will be different...

Yup..I think you are right.
It depends on the people that use the credit card.
For me, it would make me sick..

Dear Durenman,
I had my first credit card while in high school. At that time debit card system had not appeared. The reason I was given that card was so that I did not have to carry a big amount of money when I travelled abroad. It seemed like a good idea. And the thought of having credit did not cross my mind because the concept is if you want to spend from the credit card, you've got to have the money to pay later. Credit card only serves as a means to make things more practical.
But I think nowadays we misuse credit card to serve our unsatisfied appetite for material stuff. It feeds on the greediness to get everything at once. I still have one credit card but I hardly ever use it. Usually only to help buying stuff in the internet which I pay back right away so that no interest will be levied on me. Today, I prefer the debit card if I want a thin wallet...=)

I don't have a credit card for the simple reason that when we retired we decided that if we couldn't afford to buy something out of the actual cash we had, then it could wait. LOL
Before retirement we did have a credit card and used it sensibly so we didn't have a large bill at the end of the month and could pay it off in full to avoid interest charges. On retirement we cancelled the credit card and have managed quite well without one for 10 years now. :)

Credit card interests are through the room, you make an online or over the phone payment BEFORE its due and they don't process it quick enough to they slam you with late fees, The call to inquire about a payment but won't leave messages, and the activation fee on some of them is just outragous.

They are nice for emergencies but if you use them a lot then you are paying interest on EVERYTHING you buy on them. Who wants to pay that much interest?
