When I used to go dancing, there were 90% girls and 10% boys. In wich number are you? Do you think boys find dancing embarrasing?

I had a ballet teacher from Armenia once who said when he was taking ballet in his home country, there were an equal amount of boys in his class as girls. However, it is unusual for boys to dance in English-speaking countries. His theory is that because here in the US, boys participate in sports, but in his country, ballet was the logical option for boys who wanted to do something athletic. However, my studio never really had more then three to five boys taking lessons at a time. Almost all the dancers were girls, and so we had to bring in male dancers from other companies. I can't speak for boys, so I don't know why most don't dance. I have known some who would say it is too "girly" though.
