I got a ticket today for going 4 miles over the speed limit and I don't think that I deserve it. Is it worth going to court to try and fight my ticket? Has anyone ever been successful at fighting a speeding ticket. Are there any similar stories where you've got a ticket or been harassed by the cops.

The officer was pretty nasty to givr you the ticket, however, you were in violation of the law, and he wss simply doing his job. I wouldnt bother appealing the ticket, you will simply end up with more debt in terms of court expenses etc.
Dont mean to scold, just being realistic. I am a law student so know what I am talking about :)

Thanks for your response I wanted to know if it would be worth it or if it would just be a waste of my time.

I have fought a ticket and got it dismissed. I was behind a truck that stepped on the breaks at a place where there was no reason for it. In order to NOT hit him I changed to the other lane and punched the gas to keep the car behind me but in the other lane from hitting me. I told the story to the judge along with the fact that I had been driving this stretch of road for as long as I have been driving and I knew that a cop was most likely sitting where he was because they are always there. I was only trying to avoid an accident. I even told the judge that I had tried to reach the people who had been driving the truck that had stopped in the middle of the road. There was also a car in front of us doing a lot faster and I was not sure that the cop did not spot his speed instead of mine. The cop should have been after that one instead of me. He was clearly going faster than any of the rest of us.She let me off the ticket.
I think it is worth it if you really have a good case. 4 miles over the limit is not much and could be attributed to going down a hill, traffic speed, speedometer off a little. Any number of things.

Wow, you got a really anal cop, it sounds... I've past cops sitting at the side of the road going 10-15 miles per hour over. Thats sux. I don't know if you can fight something like that.. The judge will just say that speeding is speeding, even if its one mile over. I can't believe that the cop didn't just let you go with a warning... He must have been bored to pull you over for only going 4 miles over the speed limit... Good luck wiht that though...
