what do you do before and after drinking alcoholic beverages?

if i am able to do something before drinking, i would take a tablespoon of olive oil. but this does not happen always. most of the time, i get to drink without any preparations done. so i end up doing something after drinking so as to avoid hangovers. whatever i drink, after that, i would take 2 to 3 glasses of water. this will at least lessen the concentration of the alcohol content of the beverage. so what about you? what do you do?...
