How do you start your day? Coffee?

I have been a coffee drinker for years and years. A couple of years ago I had my 3rd major surgery on my liver and I lost the taste for it. Really. Just didn't want anything to do with it. My problem was, I didn't know what to do in the mornings. I was used to waking up with some coffee (decaf, so it was not a caffiene addiction thing)I tried drinking coke, root beer, hot tea...nothing seemed to help. I just didn't know what to do with myself. Finally after months and months of this winter was coming on and cold weather, coffee started sounding good to me again. So now I feel complete in the mornings. I was just wondering what you do to start your day?

I love coffee, I usually have two cups when I get up. I got a Senseo pod coffee maker for Christmas and I am absolutely in love with it. I usually like dark roast, french roast and columbian. I just found Sumatran Blend by Senso and it is just devine..quite smooth. I've already had two cups but now taling about it I have to go for a third....lol

I've never heard of a Senseo pod coffee maker. Can you buy it anywhere or is it a special order item? I'd love to try one. I am looking for a new coffee maker. Mine is just a regualar Mr. Coffee or a Black & Decker, I can't remember. But anyway, I think the better coffee makers make the better cup of coffee. Thanks for sharing this with me.

I think you can get them at most department stores now. I got mine at my Kmart. But they also have them at Walmart and Target stores. I posted a walmart link for you so you can read about it and see it.

Oh I'm a tea drinker definately! I can't stand coffee - even the smell makes me feel sick - but I am addicted to tea, and have to drink two strong cups before I leave for work. Nothing looks so bad after a nice cup of tea - must be the English in me:-)) And I'm glad you have recovered from all your surgeries now.

I love hot tea also. Especially the flavored teas, I can drink them anytime, but I love them in the evening so I can relax. Yes, I'm glad the surgeries are over for now. They will have to be done again, but hopefully not for a few more years :)

Yes, most mornings I drink coffee (I'm a coffee addict for sure). Now and then I have a cup of tea or a glass of milk, and on occasions a glass of water but it doesn't beat having a cup of nice hot coffee (hmmmm!).

I know what you mean. Nothing can quite beat a nice hot cup of coffee fixed just the way you like it. When we travel, I love to drink cappucino's. Especially the French Vanilla.

I used to start my day with a nice cup of decaf black coffee. However, all coffee and tea still has a little caffeine in it. Well, my chemistry is very sensitive. The little bit of caffeine that was in there finally caught up with me. Then I would stop for awhile. Then I would go back to it. I would do that back and forth because I really love my coffee. Right now, I am not drinking it every morning because I really cannot handle the little bit of caffeine in it. Now, I have iced tea or Pepsi. The Pepsi and iced tea I drink have caffeine but it does not have the same result. I am not sure why.

I know back when I was addicted to caffiene, if I didn't have coffee everyday, I would get this terrible headache and it would not go away until I drank some regular caffienated coffee. Drinking a soda or tea did not make me react the same way. I thought caffiene was the same in all drinks, but this proves it is not.

I hate everything about coffee, even the smell, so that's not an option. Also, caffeine has no affect on me. Soda and candy do nothing to keep me awake or alert. It's extremely annoying now that I'm in college with no help for all-nighters!
I start my day with food. I wake up starving, and even a little granola bar helps. I'm pretty miserable if I don't get to eat breakfast!

Wow,that's strange that it has no affect on you. Maybe after being at college awhile you will be able to manage the late hours :) Breakfast is an important meal, that's good that you wake up hungry, your body needs it. I don't get hungry usually until way later in the day, so it's bad for me.

I do really love to start my day with a hot green tea in my cup. I regularly have a cup or more in the morning before having my breakfast. There's something about the tea that makes me good for the day.

I used to not eat anything, I used to just roll out of bed and go to school. Now that I am out of school and working I have become addicted to coffee. However, I don't drink a cup in the morning. In the mornings I get my son ready and make his breakfast. Then I have a cup of Earl Grey Tea. I love a cup of that in the morning, it tastes yummy and has such a pleasant fragrance.

I used to be a big coffee drinker, but due to a serious caffeine addiction it became apparent that I HAD to quit. Now I just make sure to eat a larage, and decently healthy, breakfast. Good food make a day so much better.

I am not a big breakfast eater, but I have to have something in the mornings to get my day going right. I don't have the caffiene addiction anymore, but I do love the coffee with cream and sugar.

I have a coffee every morning to start my day. Usually have a large vanilla latte. I have a tough time getting going for the day if I don't have that shot of caffeine.

I start my day with coffee, though not bedcoffee. Its been a habit over a period of years that drinking coffee after just finishing the brushing up of teeth. I am habituated to that extent that if I dont take the coffee within 30mins after i wake up i end the day with migraine which is coupled with vomits.
