Does anybody else have this same problem with their beagle? Our one loves us so much and loves being with us, that when she is with us, one minute she can be happily laying there with us patting her or rubbing behind her ear, then all of a sudden she'll start rolling around on her back and nipping at us and gets all over excited! I've tried all the things they say to do to try to stop this but they haven't worked. The other problem I have is that when I go out to the yard to play with her (throw a ball etc) she gets all excited and jumps up on me, and pulls at my clothing (I have a shredded t-shirt I wear out with her now - it can't get much worse). I have tried turning my back and trying to ignore her, but she then just jumps up at my back or tries to nibble at my feet and my toes. I just don't know what to do to get her to calm down. She also goes nuts when I try to hang clothes on the line. She tries to drag pieces of clothing out of the basket, and then once the stuff is on the line, invariably 2 or 3 items will end up on the ground where she has pulled them off. I've tried giving her bones, Kongs, doggie popsicles, chew toys - nothing seems as interesting to her as our clothing! I love her to bits, but I am kind of getting to my wits end here, not to mention the bruises I get from her 'rough play'. Any advice anybody?

I have a Beagle named Buster. he has been overly excited since we got him. I can be gone for 15 minutes come home and Buster has to be petted. I say, Want to visit? & he jumps on my lap. He does this constantly with me my wife and my father. I think it's in their genes maybe. He also loves to howl as the attatched photo shows. I have used stern word training with Buster to get him to quiet down & it works great now. he still gets excited but I say sternly, On your pillow & he heads to his pillow lying down until told okay. I used treats to train him in many ways. Good luck to you also.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~
