Man versus Machine - Who will win?

Today, automation is so rampant that many workers are losing their jobs. Where once, thousands of workers would work in production lines to manufacture products, today, machines have taken over and increased and accelerated productivity. My question today is, will man lose out eventually to machines? What will be the consequences if automation robs people of their livehood? Share your views with us.

I don't think man will lose out eventually to machines. Machines still are machines... they break down...they need man to fix them up. A machine cannot create himself. It takes the thoughts and idea of a man for a machine to be created. I'm pretty sure man will not allow automation to rob them of their livelihood totally. People will continue to create machines, and even earn their living from creating these machines.

I hope not too. The world's population is not getting any less but jobs seems to be getting scarce. This is my greatest concern that many people will lose their jobs. There will be many who just leave school upon graduation only to find that there isn't a good job around. Thank God, there is still internet income at this time for us who feels the urgency.

I think Man is the inventor of all machines. And in any means Man is still considered as winner.Because of the brilliant ideas and discoveries of human beings therefore machines are developed.Machines need an operator in order to operate.Machines needs an instructor in order to follow.I think machines are considered as a best follower in every single instruction as program in their controller.

Man is created superior to everything, plants animals even machine.. the machine evolved due to the human mind so eventually man will triumph over machine. In terms of the job where repetitive task is concern there is good advantage of using machine or what is commonly known as robot, but still they need to be maintained, technicians must check and do the troubleshooting to ensure that robots are performing at its peek.. in the end robot is depended still to the Man..

This question i think might become a reality aometime in the future. But, this is never to be forgotten that man created the machines, the machines didn't create man. So, if there has to be a war man will definately emerge out as victorious.

the only think is the automation cannot work without human! where there is a consumer there is a production!if all jobs of human robbed by machine then whats the use of using it by the owner, so it cant lead anyway the human jobs!it only applicable that human cant do!

it's possible. eventually machine evolves from just operational to more logical. AI can imitate a nearly human behavior and soon behaves with feelings. Humans were doomed! and machines will rise. Hope i'm not around anymore when it happens.

when i read the title, it thought this was about machines as in robots versus man, like in terminator 3. lol! XD anyway, no way that machines can take over a man's job. they're just there to make things easier for us. but there are still lots of things that machines cannot do like care-giving in health care institutions. machines can never produce graphic designs and concepts, they can only produce the tangible product. man will still win.

This is true automation is like a double edged sword..On the one hadn it increases efficiency in many areas but on the other hand so many workers..especailly the manual ones are left without jobs and many neighbourhoods are affected economically with the high levels of unemplyoment hitting them The population of the world is growing yet the new jobs in new areas must be created in order to solve this problem.

i think it would be a big problem in the employment part because if that happens man can no longer have jobs and the machine takes place..is it true that machines can produce more work and production that a man..i think the government must think about it..i am in a confusion right now abot man versus machine who will win..

Eventhough automation is so rampant, more work force is required in IT area. Now work force should compete with technology to improve their skills in various avenues. In low cost production countries like India and China even after automation also lot of demand is there for work force. Otherway it is good that people start doing something on their own also.

i dont think man will ever lose out to machines. man is the most valuable piece of machinery found in this world. we must remember that machines are made by man and need his help to function normally.like machines in production lines, which need the intelligence of computers. but its a human brain that gives it the computers the mind to think and act. without the human brain, computers would never have been invented hence no modern machinery would have existed. the most important point to remember is that machines were invented to make the human life easy and not to replace it. and also any creation can never be greater than its creator.

I think, the man won't be loose out because the highest or the smartest machine still need man to operate because they are just an iron that cannot live by self.

we all know that machines will not work without the people because who will turn on the machines?? right??? but i believe that people cannot live w/o machines because machines is really a great and a big help for us human though it does make us lazy.

man made machines, machine made life easy,in the mean while process automation leads to a greater problems like no jobs, becoming lazy etc..in nthis dynamic worlrd,we have to use these machines to a certain extent otherwise it leads to lots of problems.

I am an automation engineer. Machines will never replace man. A machine can do only what the programmer write inside his logic. Can do only those things for what he was designed by a man. Obviously machines can execute some tasks more faster than mans. This is because they are designed to do only one thing so is normal to be the best on that thing. Some people will loose their job because of machines if they don't learn to do something new. But this is what make the difference. People can learn new things. They can even learn how to design new machines and probably this is what they should learn if they wanna make a good life and do not loose their job.

first ,machine use by human to increase and accelerate productivity, and person losing their job lacking of certain technique ,acquire better chance to have a good live must advance with times. second, machine be machine all the while,it can't replace human except artificial intelligence achieve a high altitude and spread usage.
