I was looking at my son interim and came up with this topic.
I remember growing up, our grading system use to have a E. The E of course meant you were failing that course/class.
Basicially it use to be A, B, C, D, E, there was never F's. Now that my child is older and in school, I have noticed they give out F's instead of E's.
How is the grading system where you live? Do you know whatever happened to the E? Why they stopped using it? Is there state or country that still uses the "E"?

i don't remember an E..but after F
we had a "S" for satisfactory (meaning barely passing)
and "U" for unsatisfactory (automatic repeat if not corrected)
the last two you only got for a few terms as a warning you might fail.

Maybe it was a southern USA state thing... I was raised in Alabama and they used the E for a long time. I know I had them in elementary-high school. Each state is different I supose.
My son got the S's and U's until he started middle school. He is in the sixth grade now. He don't get them anymore.

I don't ever recall their being a E. It must have been way before my time in school. I don't even remember my grandparents talking about it. There is just A B C D F here. Great topic! You get a +.
