They say that A R Rahman is the Mozart of India. I feel this is not right.

A R Rahman is known as Mozart of India. I feel this is not right. Mozart was a great classical composer. But Rahamn is a far more talented person, with knowledge of Hindustani Classical, Cartatic music, western classical, Japanese music, Arabic music. So it would be more appropriate to say that had Mozart been alive today, he would have been known as Rahman of the west. What do you feel?

hey you are wrong... rahman is not called Mozart of india. he is called Mozart of Asia or the Asian Mozart. you can check any search site and find it out yourself.
and i think it is a very much deserving title. for he has brought a recognition to indian music all over the world. and he's not only excelling in indian but also the chinese, arabian, etc. His present plans are to create music which is appealing to the west and also the east and make an oscar winning album. so lets hope he's going to succeed in his plans. After all, that will make us proud too

The ones that I have heard are 'Mozart of the east', 'Mozart of Madras' and 'Mozart of India'. But anyway. It seems you didn't read properly what I had written before posting your comment.
