OK. I know this just is not right, and I apologize to everybody for it, but for the past few years I've been watching less and less baseball until last year when I watched none. So I want advice on catching up on the Cubbies.
My question is who are the stars on the team? What about the new blood? Veterans? Let me know what you think.

Well, I think getting rid of Juan Pierre was a big mistake. They did get Alfonso Soriano and Cliff Floyd. They should be a good addition to the club. On the other hand Kerry Wood is injured already in spring training.

I haven't sorted through the line-up yet, but I'm hoping they weren't banking everything on Wood in the bullpen.

They should definitely be more exciting to watch this year.
They have made a few additions:
Lou Piniella-manager Aan Trammell-bench coach (helps hitters)
Alfonso Soriano-lead-off/center field, maybe second base, his preferred position
New position players- Cliff Floyd, Mark DeLaRosa (very handsome guy)
New pitchers- Jason Marquis , Ted Lilly, Neal Cotts
They still have Carlos Zambrano, Wade Miller, Derek Lee, Aramis Ramirez, Jacques Jones, Michael Barrett, Ryan Dempster, Kerry Wood, Scott Eyre, Will Ohman, Angel Pagan, Matt Murton, Cesar Izturis, Bobby Howry, Ryan Theriot, Rich Hill
They have played great defense all spring. Therefore they have hitting, pitching and defense.
They...could....go....all....the....way!!!!
I am too excited about this year.

I'm totally gonna start watching again this season. I've got tomorrow off of work, so I'm probably going to start catching up on line-up and stats all day. LOL. I heard good things about their bullpen, too.
