hi sshazie, let me first tell you how we work thing out, im a house wife, cook and clean for my husband and take care of our three children. while he works full time and pays for everything in the house, that includes food, clothing, bills, etc. that was a choice we both decided on.
so you should come up with a decision either you both work and pay everything in half. or one stays home and cooks and clean while the other work and pays for everything you need.
so give it a try and let me know what you think. GOODLUCK!!!!!!!!!!

This is the ideal set up that i pray for. unfortunately in my country the cost of living is too high to have a single breadwinner in the family. furthermore, we have just started on a new job and our new house is due anytime soon. geezz i'm totally stressed out.

If you are both working, then things will be divided accordingly and depending who brings the bigger paycheck. Usually, it is the husband who pays for the major bills (utilities, etc.) But if you have a joint account, you both deposit your earnings, then each of you get the same amount of personal allowances to spend it freely. The remaining money will be divided for the bills. This will work out good coz it is fair.

i feel that families should draw a line sometime or other to share the expenses. i am quite sure that without doing so, times when arguments arise, one will start pointing fingers at the other and things will get really bad. i dun want that to happen, that's y i'm seeking as much advice as possible.
