Am interested to find out what everyone feeds their baby kittens? my new baby is 7 weeks old and i have him on Science diet and Iams dry food and he has a little can through out the day. (my other cats looks at him in disgusted as they just have plain old whiskas dry food)But he is a persian and i do know that i have to be very careful with his diet, so really just wanting to know what the most popular food is. And do you give your cats milk? Many thanks in advance and look forward to your reply's

my kitten is only 4 1/2 months old and since the day I got him he's gotten Whiskas kitten food and the occassional wet cat food but never cheap food... giving milk to kittens can be dangerous unless you water it right down and didn't you know that Iams has been recalled because of rat poisoning?

Thank you ever so much for your reply, no i never heard about the Iams being recalled, well that packet has just gone in the bin. And that was the food the breeder recommended !! I am giving him a little kitten Goument food i did buy him some whiskas kitten food but he did'nt seen to amused with that. And i know about cheap cat food, all my animals get better food than i do.. lol..

thank you hun since my last post to you Basil is now eating whiskas kitten food and is still on the science diet dry food so there, i have refraned from giving him any milk as this dried food has all the proteins i think neccesary. He is now 9 weeks old. when he reaches 4 months i will be putting him onto Royal cain persian 32 food as the vet has recommended, as i lost my past cat to kidney failure i think i have become somewhat paranoid over his food, although his diet had nothing to do with his illness. I keep hearing that to much ash in the cats food can be very harming exspecial for breed cats, which make me querie why the persian 32 food has a high ash content ?? Basil is coming along a treat and he is so loving, even if he uses my legs as laddrers thank goodness it not time to wear shorts xxx

Gourmet food is ok once in a while but not too often due to the richness... if your kitten does not seem amused with whiskas kitten then try another kitten food... alot of time if they dont like it but keep eating it it will make them sick... so find something they like and will willingly eat

Don't give your kitten regular cow's milk. Cats cannot properly digest cow's milk, and it could make your baby sick. Is this the diet that your vet recommended? I would feed my kittens Kitten Chow, and wet cat food. Just make sure that you feed your kitten only enough canned cat food that he can eat at one setting. Canned cat food can spoil if left out too long. Congradulations on your new baby.

And i give him a little teaspoon in the morning and one at bedtime of kitten goumet. And thank you for the congratutaions he's a real doll and so loving. xx

i give my cats fish, fresh fish that i buy and poach for them. this i mix into rice and feed to them. i try to stay away from commercially prepared cat food. and their fur is beautiful, i guess its because of the natural oil in fish.

At 7 weeks your kitten should stll be nursing his mum and having bits of dry food. Poor baby. I would feed him a raw egg mixed with some milk untill hes 10 weeks ish. Ive had kittens, had a mom who had 7 and she couldent feed them all, so i took over. If you can get kitten formula in a pet store i would, if not milk and a raw egg to keep him healthy till hes big enough. The dry food your giving him is a decent kind. But i would try to incorporate raw meat into their diet such as chicken. Its really healthy for animals.

Thank you silver, yes i thought he was very young when i got him but he is eating very well and is very healthy and is also litter trained which is very rare at his age, but i've only had one puddle since i got him over a weeks ago, bless him and there was me expecting lots of messes.
