I am NOT a puddle jumper. I go right through those mud puddles guns blazing. I have heard too often, "don't get your feet wet, don't jump in the puddles, don't get your boots dirty????????"
Why not?!? Am I so "rebellious?" I love to splash throug puddles, listen to the squishy sound of my boots getting stuck in mud!
I was not the type of mom that made my boys stay out of puddles either. There is nothing a garden hose can' clean off in a hurry.
So if you need something to do with your childre today, go puddle jumping in the real sense of the words.....jump right in them. It's very invigorating!

Ha ha when we were kids in the summer after a thunderstorm we would put on our bathing suits and stand by the road. We would actually encourage drivers to splash us with driving through the puddles on the side of the road. They were also building a large apartment complex behind out house..there is a lot of clay in the ground out there. We would take off our shoes and socks and march in place in the damp clay till we would be up to our ankles and stuck in it... We loved puddles and mud..we would make all kinds of creations with the mud and sail little paper boats in the big puddles...My mother never appreciated it but we had fun.

i love to go puddle jumping in the summer after a good thunderstorm but i usually go barefoot, because i love to feel the mud squish between my toes. I too let my son run out in the rain if it is warm enough. i mean come on you are only young once.

Great mom!!! That's the spirit. I love it. Have fun and slide and jump into all the puddles. Then strip and hose off. I gave you a + rating for this post again sugar. It was so enlightning.

I too enjoy the spring and personally I like the mud to squish between my toes. My son is only admonished to avoid the puddles if we are to be clean when out in public. With acreage we have plenty of opportunities to play in the rain and puddles and mud and even our creek. Spring is a time of renewal and the welcome of better weather. Glad that you and we enjoy it so.

Yes my daughter and I have done some real puddle jumping! In the puddle of course. We also like to go in the rain and splash each other with hands full of water.
The kid I saw one day was having the best fun. He was splashing in a puddle, only there was no water left in the hole. It was all MUD! He was covered from head to toe with good ol' Tennessee Red Mud! He was having so much fun! He was sliding on his stomach through the puddle when I first spotted him. He would even sit down and scoop it up to pour over his head.
His momma was sure mad at him, but I could not have gotten mad. He was having so much fun! He could have easily been sprayed off with a water hose, and removed all but his skivvies before going in the house to be scrubbed well. I think some parents forget to let kids be kids sometimes.

My daughter loves splashing through puddles-- the bigger the better! I let her do it, but it never occurred to me to join in on the fun. Thanks for the idea, ally-- next time it rains I'll surprise her!

I also charge through them but I don't like my feet wet unless I'm swimming or in the bath.I wear sorels in the winter and either rubber muck or riding boots wet times in the summer. If the mud is not bad I will wear cowboy boots
