Do you have any criteria set in finding your son-in-law?

Or vise versa, your daughter-in-law? Must he or she be a professional? must he be able to support your daughter? Must he or she conforms with your family tradition? Must he or she be an obedient son/daughter-in-law? Or what do you expect from him or her?

I think that would be totally up to my son to choose someone for himself. It is not my place as his mother to find that perfect someone for him, because she could be perfect in my eyes, but not in his. So no, I don't have a set criteria in finding a daughter-in-law. I would want my son to pursue a career or live his life first before wanting to settle down and raise a family.

i don't know what traditions you follow but, i can only hope that my boys will pick somebody they love and are loved in return, as a parent i do not think we should expect our future in-laws to be anything that WE want! personally i took offence at my parents telling me what i should look for, i know they where only looking out for me but it was my choice who i married not theirs, and i know i picked the right woman for me, so please take this advice....... give your kids a break and have some faith in their decisions, support them in this and it will be worth it in the long run, honest

As a parent, you want your son or daughter to end in good hands. For me I would like a dughter-in-law to be more caring and loving than me. I'd like her to take good care of my son the way i'm taking good care of my hubby. She must be good in cooking or maybe she could learn in the latter part of the marriage. She should have good manners and right conduct and with high morale. She does not need to be obedient to me, as long as what she's doing is right. She should be stick to one kind of girl...
