In other words, what are your favorite movies that didn't make it big in the box office? Explain why you like these movies. A lot of time some fantastic movies and independent films don't get much recognition at the box office. A couple of my favorites are The Hours, because it had a very haunting story and showed how inter-connected our lives can be. Not to mention I've always liked the writing of Virginia Woolf. I also like The Station Agent which is an independent film and one of my favorite movies. It shows how this one person had a purpose in life even though he felt at first that he didn't. So, go ahead and share some of your favorites!

I love the Hours too. My sleeper is Oscar. It is a comedy starring Sly Stallone. Yes a comedy. Maybe that is why it didn't do well at the box office.Stallone plays a gangter in the late 20's early 30's who is trying to go straight. It is a screwball comedy. And Sly is great in it.

I would say that Pan's Labyrinth didn't make it *huge* at the box office, but it won 3 Academy Awards. It is a spectacular film that is incredibly three dimensional and with beautiful cinematography.
