How do you rate?

I always give a + to people who answer my discussion because they took the time to answer so I thank them for that. Me too I have never rated anyone minus, why would I do that? I'm grateful that they answered my discussion and I respect their point of view whether it is positive or negative.

I would love to know this as well. I have been giving positives to every answer that is well written/understandable and none to the ones that are completely irrelavent to the question. I hope I am doing this right!

When I first came I did all I could according to the guidelines that are suggestions and so easily abused by moderators. Now anyway under me no matter if it is one line then I plus them since I am at a 9 now and do nothing differently and I know how it feels immensely. Everyone should be plussed now and not make it such a popularity thing. Good luck with this and with Mylot. They may yet burn you since they have many of us.

I rate with a + rating every topic that I read. Even if I dont respond to that topic I also rate. Then all the topics that I respond to I also rate all the other responses with positive rating. I know how important is our reputation and I see to it that I have good ratings coz it matters a lot.

I read through most of the responses and discussions people put..And then,depending on the quantity,its quality,and the relevence to the day to day life and depending on the responses other peoples have given to that,I rate them in my mind in a scale of 5..If overall rate comes from 3-5 I give + , if its 1-2 I dont response and if its 0,I put - unless its my friends who puts in a lot of responses to my discussions...But in their case too,if they keep on doing it,I may go about in putting - which has not happened yet.

I rate positive for people with good responses. No rates if the response is ok. I rate negative for spams or unrelated messages.

I give a + to every one who responds with a response that actually pertains to the subject and nothing to responses that let me know they didn't even read the subject matter. I do not give - (minus) to anyone. I also rate some of the discussions.

Hello deesamps..... Automaticly giving postive rating is against mylot policies. There are things that should be rated negatively and reported. Mylot needs and request our help locating the crap that needs to be removed. Read the do's and don't to see for yourself. Do your part to improve the quality of mylot and the time we spend here. Tom

I am like you I rate with a + because they took the time to read my discussion and respond to it but there has been a few that I rated - because they made just a mean respond or discussion and it is not right I was always taught If you dont have anything good to say then dont say anything at all.

i do rate to those who response or make comment to my discussion..even if they dont agree or agree with my discussion as long as they respond to my discussion, share their veiws and opinions..its okay for me and i do rate a + rating to those who are deserving and have a quality discussion..

i rate to those who leave comment aand response to my discssion because they are deserving to get a rate because of there effort.. so far i havent gave a negative rate here..just all positive..

I rate everyone who responds a plus, unless they say something really dumb that proves they didnt' even read my question. Then I don't rate them. I have only rated someone negative twice. It was the same person, and they were extrememly rude.

I rate the responses , if I like the response or if I think that the person has realy given the discusion a thought, I give them a + rating . I give - rating quite rarely and only to those whom I feel have given a rubbish reply.

I want to know it as well.I am a new register,there are too many things that I don't know and I hope to make as many friends as possible here!

Oh try to rate who I can....even if I always forget to rate people here. Anyway I rate a response with a + if I liked what he/she wrote. If I didn't liked that, I would rate his/her post with a -. Don't worry....I often use a + because people here is never offending other people and I think people here are all cordial and kind!!

This rating system is cetainly a tricky one. Anyone can rate you either the + or -. In my case, I always rate everyone + for as long I can see that they took the effort to give a well meaningful response. I never rate - as I don't feel any better doing so. For those spammers and cheaters frequently seen on my discussions, I reported it right away to mylot. I've seen a lot of threads going around about the dropped of their star rating. It can be they were involved in some sort of debacles or arguments with others. I try to avoid any word bashing as I was not a confrontational person. I only hope that some members will not abuse the rating button just to give someone a low rating. :0

rating to discussions is more of an opinion that we form on the subject. I always keep in mind not to misjudge and hurt others. be positive and everything that comes to you will also be positive.
