How do we know that Christ died for us?

Everyone else seems to sure that the reason Christ died on the cross was to atone for our sins and to allow us a closer relationship to God. Now I don't rationally understand how him dying that terrible death means that we are now "saved". How did this belief come out? How did people know that the reason he died was for us?

Ok, in the Old Testament people would sacrifice sheep, and lambs to God. by killing them. Giving up the one that was the best, or biggest. Thereby proving they are willing to give up and sacrifice for him. So, God sent his son, the lamb of God, to be sacrificed for us. That is the best way I can explain it...hope it helps.

Try Jesus Don't Judge Him - Jesus is the only way. Jesus is our Salvation and our hope. Why don't you try Jesus before judging Him.
For you to so call no so much about the bible why are you Jesus' biggest critic?

ZoomZoom, are you asking why someone would criticize the bible, if they have read it? That's an easy one ~ because they've read it and that's their opinion on it.

What have I said about opinions? They don't add up to two cents. That's all they are, opinions. They are meaningless to me.

Beyond the bible, there is no proof. Nor did he really have control of the situation. He would have been killed either way by the Jews for blasphemy. That is why I am agnostic. None of it can be proven.

You don't, there are to many conflicting reports of the event.
