One square meter is equal to one meter squared...to calculate area you multiply the length of two sides...so if the area was 1 square meter each side must be 1 meter long: 1x1=1, one meter squared means your area is one meter on each side so again 1x1=1 But...this only works for 1 meter. 100 square meters is NOT the same as 100 meters squared. To get 100 square meters you must figure out how long each side is. A 10x10 area is the easiest to use but 2x25 or 5x20 is also 100 square meters. 10mx10m=100sq.m. 100 meters squared would mean that the length of each side is 100 meters so it would be 100mx100m=10,000 square meters. Hope that made some sense, it's really much easier to explain by drawing out the squares but I think I explained alright.

A 100 square metre would consist of 100 times the amount of a single square metre, whereas a 100 metre square would measure 100 metres on each side. Therefore it would be 10000 square metres and far larger than a 100 square metre area.

Yes, it depends on whether you say - 100 metres the whole square or 100 meters square !

100 sq is 100^2=100*100=10000 meter, but 100 meter square is a area unit such as your house is length 10 meter and wide 10 meter, so 10*10=100 meter square. Hope to help you.

Hello!100sq meter=10meter* 10meter(A square of 10meter side) 100 meter square= A square of area 100 meter. So grammatically both are equal Understand If any logical reason exist give it to me

In this comparison the answer is the same which is 10 by 10 meters. but a sqare of something is the number broken down into equal parts as in a square. When you take something to the second power as in meter sqare you are multiplying the number by itself.

In mathematical convention the use of linear unit with superscripts denotes i) area if superscript 2 is used and ii) volume if supercript 3 is used :-)
