intel processors are a lot better for multitasking while AMD processors are better for gaming and high graphics applications

Intel attained by intels dual -core processor is particularly attributable to hyperthearding(HT).However the performance are included from the order intel x486 cpu as well as the more modem intel pentium 4 and AMd athlon cpu.

may be ther is performance difference.i prefer AMD since i am using one.I use AMD because -comparatively cheap -high performance -high stabilty -greater support for gaming i recommned AMD FX 64 bit computing. It has many advantage over intel pentium 4 processors.but i heard that intel pentium duo core2 is much better than other precedures and a like performance with AMD 64.so i f you are going to buy a new computer either you go for AMD FX 64 or Pentium 4 Duo core 2.

the difference is in the core technology, well as of now intel is ahead with its core2duo and its recommended that you prefer intel

well there is more to processors than speed like which is displayed on the box there is the L1,L2 cache, the core architecture technology, the cooling system,do you know that intel's presscott core got heated up to 90 centigrades now you definitely don't want that to happen

They are just different chipsets made by different companies. each person has their preference. Between the two I would prefer an AMD processor as it often clocks faster than a pentium, but that is just my preference. AMD processors do have a tendency to run a lot hotter making cooling much more of an issue, but that is a sacrifice made for having a faster running processor.

That's what I've heard (about the cooling issue), but right now I have a Pentium. I'm not really attached to either brand, so if I get a new computer I'll look at both brands, but one thing I do like about Pentium is that they tell you the clock speed up front.
