How long would you let your food sit out and still eat it?

I work in a convenience store, and lots of people come in and get coffee everyday. Some come more than once a day and bring their own filthy, hasn't-been-washed-in-months coffee cups. As a matter of fact, my manager has one of his very own. They're crust and have brown rings at the top of the cup..to give you an idea, I wouldn't even touch them!! So, for how long would you drink from your cup without washing it???
That kind of grosses me out, but this one's even worse. My boyfriend and I have a friend and former employee who really has no limits when it comes to food... We ate lunch one day at a local hot dog place. (Well, they ate..not me) The sauce is hot and there's a rumor that the old man was putting canned dog food in the sauce years ago. SO we joke that this sauce could kill anything. I didn't realize that Chris hadn't finished his lunch until two days later............................
when he reached underneath the truck seat and pulled out a hot dog and promptly ate the whole damn thing. Mind you, it was the middle of summer. Hot outside. Hot in that truck.
I don't suspect any of you have been that brave with your eating hygiene, but maybe. Are you, or someone else you know highly immune to decomposing food or drink?

It was a hot dog. You don't expect it to go bad do you? Probably why they encourage people to give them to their children. Nothing is going to hurt them in a hot dog. LOL.
Next comes McDonald's. Need I say more.
Now the coffee thing is kind of twisted. Is that some kind of weird OCD?

I don't know how he did this and did not get sick. You should relly report those people to be investigated my the DHEC or local services in your area. I don't leave my food out mainly because I was taught better. As soon as we get through eating I put it in containers and put it up. Of course after it cools. i have always heard you aren't suppose to put food in the fridge while it is still hot either. Just some old sayings from my grandma, but none of the family has had food poisoning yet? I hope you try to teach other people better hygeine for their food. Before someone really ends up with serious problems in the hospital. I'm glad to hear he is a former employer.

Lol, I know. It would have thrown up before I got the first bite down. The place was investigated, I think. And it's still open, so I guess it really was just rumor. But, there was no teaching this guy anything, He had a mind of his own. He was a good worker, though. Believe it or not.
And, he always complained about having IBS...after I got to know him, I realized why. He also ate a hamburger (still wrapped) that had sat in the bed of the truck all night.
