Yes once again, our beloved country, the Philippines was recently ranked 3rd (in 22 countries) in the Western Pacific Region by the World Health Organization (WHO) with highest cases (240,000) of tuberculosis (TB). True enough, because Filipinos have a habit to spit/ unclogged their noses anywhere, cough or sneeze without covering their mouths, could smoke anytime, anyplace even if there's an existing law that prohibits this, and lastly, they thought of themselves as superhumans that there's no need for doctors. See this link for TB statistics: http://www.wpro.who.int/publications/pub_9290612193.htm

Tuberculosis is a disease caused by an infection with the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Its a disease of the lungs. However, the infection can spread via blood from the lungs to all organs in the body. The bacteria that cause the disease are inhaled in the form of microscopic droplets that come from a person with tuberculosis. When coughing, speaking or sneezing, the small droplets are expelled into the air. They dry out quickly, but the bacteria itself can remain airborne for hours. However, the tuberculosis bacteria are killed when exposed to ultraviolet light, including sunlight.
