How can I get a star?

Healthkeep, first I would like to welcome you to mylot. It truly is a fun place to be. The stars are the "mylot reputation" it's how other members see you and they are responsible for your rating. The numbers range from 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest. The stars are given right at your 100th posts, sometimes their is a short delay after reaching 100 especially on the weekend or late at night. The higher your star the higher your reputation. At the end of every discussion and response their are a set of buttons, "+", "-", "!" these buttons determine your reputation and that's how you rate other members also. Refer to the guidelines to rate correctly. Mainly the "-" is NOT for those that disagree with your opinion. The members with the larger numbers have been here longer, everyone of those numbers represents a response to a discussion that they have responded to. Mine should show around 1175 responses I have been here since Jan 28. Things to remember to get rated positively, don't post 1 liners, they not only can be deleted but they affect your star and the earnings. Post quality discussions and responses, most like the quality is determined by staying on topic with the discussion and the length of the response. That doesn't mean that the longest response is the best just that they gave great details to your discussion. Hope this helps to get you started. Remember to refer to the guidelines often the longer your here the more they make sense. :)

You get a star once you complete 100 posts..the star implies your reputaion here at mylot. When I first joined in December, I too felt I would never make it to 100, let alone 500,1000 or 2000. Time has flown and now I'm close to 3000 posts:) So just continue posting before long you will have your star as well as a lot of posts.

You have to post or respond to 100 discussions.

Yes mylot members have the option to rate every post whether it is a discussion, picture, response or comment. The little boxes on the right that are + - ! They give us our star number, or reputation. It is a sign of how mylot members like your posts. They stand for + good post, - bad, ( but not for disagreeing!) post ! a violation of the guidelines. We are all asked to choose on these. Most will get a + a few may get the others. One can be chosen BEST RESPONSE by you the poster of this discussion. You should give it to the one who give you the best response. Some of the people who have a lot of posts are long time members who were here from the start. I have seen 12,000 & over. The best tip is to read the guidelines, as well as FAQ at the bottom of the page. They will tell you the things you can and can not do. Posts that go against these guidelines can be deleted and removed and the money earned by all the posters deleted is removed. So it pays to know what will and will not get deleted. Also play nice, post longer posts for better results and stay active. Do not break the rules.

You still can't get a stat, because you haven't reached to 100 posts. What you can do is to post quality and long responses, and then other members will rate you with a (+), and when you will reach to 100 posts, your rating will be high.

my dear healthkeep i already see you are going to become a mylot addict:) 100 posts..and the star aill appear and then deciding yer reputation is all by mylots..:) but i am sure you will do good:)

Add some more words to your responses . One liners are not taken on mylot and they delete even one liner discussions . ( Not my personal experience but read this in many responses and discussions ) . Try posting some lengthy responses and related to the subject of the discussion. ( I don't mean to offend you , it's an advice only ). Add images for your discussions.
