What did you think of the HBO series Rome finale, and the show in general?

All good things have to come to end but I was really hoping that HBO would extend this series to longer than just two seasons. I really liked the way they wove these fictional stories into the real history of Rome. It was a great show that I am going to miss dearly. What did you think of the series in general, and the finale itself?

I have not seen the last episode yet, but I am very sorry to hear the series is ending. I love historical fiction and this was such an interesting show. A refeshing change from all the reality TV out there. I will miss it.

I guess it was originally planned as a 2 season large mini-series and I agree with you that it was a great show. HBO usually does a pretty good job with most of its in house projects, and partnering up BBC only made the show that much better. Thanks for you comments.

i loved the show Rome. The last episode was definitely a good one, but I will miss this show and I wish they would continue it!! hopefully HBO will come out with another great show (i'm sure they will). Especially since the sopranos are ending also soon!

Filmbuff. I watched the first season none stop for 2 days. I did not watch it on HBO, I downloaded it. I was mesmerized. Now this season I have not watched any of them. I want to be able to watch the first again then enjoy the second with out the wait. I am looking forward to it very much. By far my favorite movies are period epics. I enjoy the costumes, the grand sets, and the history even if it is fictionalized.

I couldn't agree more! They really did a fantastic job with the show. The first season I think is better; the second one is much much darker but does tie up all the loose ends very nicely.
Interestingly enough, Titus Pullo and Lucius Vorenus were actual soldiers who did serve under Julius Ceaser.

I loved this show! It was truly one of the best shows I've seen on TV in a while. The finale was a little anti-climatic, but it was good to see Atia as her old fiery self and Vorenus reconciled with his children. The ending was cute. "About your father..."
