How do you eat mac and cheese?

Mac and cheese seems to be an american staple, and I've noticed that lots of people make it different ways by adding different things to it. My family in general adds tuna to it, although my brother won't even add cheese to the macaroni-- just butter and salt and eat it that way. Do you have a favorite way of eating it and if so how?

If I add anything to it, which I don't always, it's usually just hamburger meat. Though some of these other suggestions sound lovely. (Except tuna...ewww) Actually, mac and cheese is one of the things I would like to eat more of right now. But I can't find out a way to make it low-sodium. Poor me.

With cream of mushroom soup... *laughs* It's funny you should say this. I've heard of people using this in mac and cheese before, and now I'm terribly afraid of eating other people's mac and cheese without asking about possible mushroom content. (I'm allergic and it could kill me). As for tuna, I don't eat any kind of fish or shellfish. Not sure why, it just makes me ill. Not like an allergy, but my doctor calls it an "intolerance". *shrugs* For that matter, there's really not all much variety to what I do eat. So please try not to be offended if I say "ewwww". I'm just a Little Miss Pickypants, that's all. =p

What's wrong with tuna? Yeah the cheese could kill the whole low sodium thing, unless you can find low sodium cheese and just make it with that. It is good with hamburger, isn't it. Okay, now I'm getting hungry again...

I love mac and cheese.. had it for dinner last night as a matter of fact. I like Velveeta or Kraft brand with the cheese pouch..not the powder cheese ya have to add milk and butter too..but some like only the powder kind. I like to add veggies to mine, personally. .sometimes corn and/or peas..and sometimes broccoli. I also like macaroni with butter, salt, pepper and garlic salt on it with veggies sometimes too..sometimes with parmesan cheese sprinkled on it. :O))

Reading your response is making me hungry! Adding some veggies isn't a bad idea I'm going to have to try that. I agree working the powdered cheese is awful, messy and you need the milk. (which I never seem to have) I got some of the microwave "just add water" and nuke instant kind and it is just really nasty. Thanks for the ideas!

I don't eat it at all. When I was a kid we ate so much of what Trans calls the cheap stuff, that I can not hardly even think about eating it. I am the same way with Peanut Butter and jelly sandwiches. Jake my son, loves it but it is a waste for me to make a whole box or even make it homemade so I buy him the single serving containers and he eats them as a snack.
