Hi muuvii, if you want a paid version antivirus, you could try Kaspersky and Symantec antivirus. These two are very effective when it comes on detecting viruses and worms. They scanned pretty well especially on safe mode. Well for free-version antivirus, you could try AVG, AVAST, and AVIRA. At this point of time, I am using Avira AntiVir Personal Classic Edition. This can be downloaded at their own official website at www.free-av.com I have been using this so far for almost two years. I have never encountered any problems at all with regards to the overall function of my PC. It updates regularly and you can scheduled this at your most convenient time. It is very light on resources and does not use a lot of memory. Hence, it does not slow down your computer.
Hope this would help to you in any way!
Have a great day!

According to some reviews, Kaspersky Antivirus is the best rightnow. I got a copy of it but only a trial version. I tried it and works well. It found some viruses and trojans in my computer which my two previous antivirus (AVG and McAfee) did not find.
