Poem that fills the heart

This poem never fails to touch my heart. I heard it in a film by Robin Williams a few years back. I've forgotten the title of the film but not the lines from the poem. I swore then that if I ever feel this kind of love for someone, I'll share the poem with him and hope that it touches him the way it did me. I have loved and been loved this way.
Now, I'm sharing the poem with you and hope that it touches your heart too...Here it goes:
I love you without knowing how
or when
or from where
I love you straight-forwardly
without complexities
or pride
I love you in this way
coz I don't know any other way of loving
but this
So close
that your hand in my chest
is your hand.
So intimate
that when I fall asleep
it is your eyes that close.

Hey secretbear! No problem. I guess any love poem is entitled to be recited, rewritten, shared and adored by anyone, at anytime. Thanks for the tips on Pablo Neruda. Best regards.

Pablo Neruda
Chilean Author and Poet
I do not love you as if you were salt-rose or topaz
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved
in secret, between shadow and soul
I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where
I love you straightforwardly, without complexity or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way
than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.
Robin Williams movie was Patch Adams, where he is going to medical school, excellent, excellent movie, recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it.
One of my favorites is "If you love someone you say it,... you say it right then, out loud,... or the moment just... passes you by." --the 'Best Friend' to Julia Roberts in My Best Friend's Wedding

Yep that's when, I've watched that movie so many times I think I know the whole thing by heart. I'm the same with Patch Adams though, not all lovey stuff but some wonderful lessons to be learned about caring for other people.

Thanks girl! I'm glad you liked the poem too. I love it so and thanks for giving me the complete details. I love the film "My Bestfriend's Wedding" and the line you've just written here. If I got it right, the lead actor said those lines on the boat as they passes through the bridge.

I like the poem but i think it's too short. Did you make this one? Perhaps it's better if you make it a little longer.

I love it so! Nope it wasn't an original. It was a poem from the movie Patch Adams. If you haven't watched the film, I recommend you grab a copy now in the video store. The movie is as beautiful as the poem.
