My husband read the book and loved it but you have to be able to follow what is happening and how it points to historical events. I just watched the movie and he had to explain a lot of what was happening for me to follow what was going on. He said I should have read the book first, so that is what I am recommending to you.

it is good that you have a husband beside you while watching the movie, a husband who has a good idea as to what the movie will be trying to get across. he sounds to be the authority around then because, he has read through the novel already. it must be rewarding for you that this is the scenario which was taking place as you were watching the movie. the efforts that your husband did then, made you understand the movie better, and it made you had a better grasp of things in there. so just in case i'd decide to go through it, i will take hold of the book first as you have suggested.

i would advice you to keep on reading.i too felt difficult to swallow the first few pages.but the book recommends a little patience and a bit imagination.the end proved worthy for me as it was a marvellous experience...........

i have heard so much already about this movie and novel, too. it had been extremely sensationalized. the truth is, to this day, i am not interested at all at peeking those items...that is, both the novel and the movie about that da vinci code. i had received feed backs from some friends that it is not that good as they had presented it in the reviews and the campaigns. but for you, watch the movie first before going through the novel. as you have said, you found the novel presented in a confusing manner. if you have watched the movie first, understanding the novel will be a lot easier.

Da Vinci Code became controversial because of touched on sensitive religious matter. I guess it became a bestseller because of that. Even out of curiousity, it did not whet my appetite because I don't like reading stories that dwells on sensitive topic like religion. Besides, my brain is not designed for deep or difficult reading. Hahaha!

some of the parts of the book is pretty boring. but when you get to the part with teabing(not sure with the spelling). it was really exciting to learn about jesus marriage.. the book is more detailed and really good.

i suggest you read the book first. if you're confused with what you have read in the first four pages, just read on through and soon you will get it.
if you ask me, i prefer the novel over the movie since the novel gives more details, information and suspense.
