What do you usually do if you are depress?

What the usual things you do when you feel depress? Do you go out with your friends or just stay with your home? Are you the type of person that wants to talk about why you are being depress or just want to be alone?

When I was younger and use to feel depressed I just liked to lay in bed and either sleep or listen to music. This really didn't help but it's all I felt like doing. Now I'm older and married with a four year old I can't really do that anymore and sort of glad as I have to just potter along and try and go about the day. Havin g acuddle with my son helps or playing a silly make belive game or lately I have found cooking helps me. WHen I am really low though I do just sort of lay or sit down in the lounge and watch a movie( not a sad one!) It sucks when you feel depressed and don't even know why. I don't mind talking about it but it depends to who. If you do go out you have to at least act a bit happy and sometimes that can help you feel a bit better. Laughing always helps if you can find something to laugh about! I have to say that even though I use prefer to be alone when depressed I have noticed that this use to makes me more depressed or just didn't help. Making yourself do something or go somewhere even though you don't really feel like it though can sometimes have a good effect cos you find that you had a bit of fun even if it was tiny. I now prefer not to be alone as I find it gives me less chance to think about if I feel crappy or not. I hope you find what makes you feel better even if it is only tiny bit it is a start. Sometimes our ways to handle our depression changes when we get older I also have different ways to handle my depression when I was small or younger than now that I'm old I think it is good that we find some good ways to handle it.

I find it hard to do anything. It just takes so much effort to get out of bed, much less go out with a friend. In fact, I often don't want to go out with a friend. Sometimes I try to restart my day. Just go back to bed, reset my alarm, and pretend the day is just starting and I have a good plan for the day. This occasionally works.

Oh really! that method works for you! I'm glad for you. We have our own little ways to atleast forget that we are depress I'm glad that you find a good way for you. I hope some people who can read your ways will also get an idea.

Well I usually go through bouts of depression and all though I dont recommend it myself the one thing that will calm me down and make me feel like somewhat a person again is smoking a joint. I know i know this is bad but for me it works because when I get depressed I go right to town and start making everyone around me miserable. I will not take anti-depressants so I dont know what else to do. If i got no joints and I get depressed its a whole other ball game. I have no patients for anyone and I just want to break things and scream and yell. As you can tell I also have an anger problem as well. I have tryed anger managment class 3 times to be exact but still no go and I even tryed anti-depressants but they made me feel like crap so if you have any good ways of dealing with depression please share.

I dont use to drink also anti depressant for I think it will not work for me. I think it is normal to some people who are depress to be angry for it is one way to release the sad thing we have inside I also noticed it to some people who are depress. It's good that you are trying your best to cure your anger problem.
