is fish and eggs ok?

there is no shortage of vegeterian friends around me.
owing to a number of reasons,all of them dont eat red meat. some of them say they eat eggs,because eggs cannot die ,while fish are sth they dont eat .another type of vegies say they also eat fish.
wich idea is correct?
