I was thinking about becoming a bartender

I was wondering if anyone here is a bartender and if anyone might be able to provide me with some tips or pointers about how I can go about doing this the correct way. I know that there is money to be made in being a bartender but I was wondering if it would be better to work in a club or a restaurant.

i have been a bartender with no experience and learned on the job..but if you can afford it there is schools for bartending..as one is by my home..but most people can learn on the job...
don't drink on the job..don't give away free drinks..and just use common sense...
be honest..be friendly ...and know when to cut the drunks off..by a restaurant is better as the higher the tab..the bigger the tip...
women will be available..but be very picky...as they can be a lot of trouble..believe me..it is not worth the aggravation to mess with a drunk women

I have no experience in this, but I would probably say to start off in a restaurant to get some practice in and then go to a club/bar from there. There are plenty of books out there on bartending. I think they have one called Bartending for Dummies. Check out the internet too for some information. Anyways, I know I probably wasn't that helpful, but hopefully what I put helped a little.
