How do I persuade 6 year old to get his hair cut..?????

I got this cousin 6 yr old, everytime he's gonna have his hair cut, he always cry...realy, even screaming , we have try everything, from soft word, until his father loose his patient and yell to him, even try to beat him....how do i persuade him...i feel pity for him (mycousin)...anyone got an idea?

i try it already, but i forgot to tell u, that he's spoiled kid, if you give him toy, then he want another and another, if you don't give toy then....cry again

For a start his father losing his patience with the child and yelling at him will not resolve the problem at all. Has he had his hair cut before and was there a problem at that time could help you find the answer. Also instead of giving him toys, the family are better off not giving him any until he gets his hair cut. Children have to learn that there are 'rewards' and 'punishments' and to give him a gift just so he will get his hair cut is not acceptable. This is what makes a child spoilt and he will always expect to be 'rewarded' for everything that he does. Should be fun times when he starts school though. :)
